That's what I'm shooting for. My filler pieces are butt welded but it will have seam sealer around the base of the wheel well like it came from the factory.

I just don't want it noticeable don't matter to me if it looks factory Surely the Dana and the fuel cell in the trunk will give it away.

Really am thinking about removing the spare tire area and making it all flat but who knows yet.

It sure would make putting the fuel cell easier and clean it up.

The void makes a nice 'weather-guard' for the fuel pump. JMHO

That is what I did with my Cuda. The spare tire well was so rotten it was a no brainer for me.

Deja Vu man !
I also have seam sealer for the bottom......I was wondering if sandable primer in coats would fill that gap over the top of the wheel well.......it is only .032 or so deep.
I got some " splatter " paint that looks very trunk floor like......that is what I will be squirting behind the back seat to hide my shoddy workmanship.

I haven't decided if the back seat will go back in or not yet......I got the cage kit to keep it , but since I don't plan on riding back there , it is low on the priority list.
Nice work so far.
Keep the updates coming.

The pic HardcoreB has above is my Dart Sport. I also used the spatter paint to hide it all. Came out pretty good.

I agree it looks great

Wonder how bed liner would look even though it would probably be just as easy to use trunk splatter.

I bought some rust bullet to spray it all down first, even picked up there black shell. The one side has the rust bullet on the floor pan.

I thought about that too. It may be more durable around gas and more scratch resistant.

In regards to filling the patch area, I run a restoration shop and the way we do it is when running the factory inner wheel tube is to cut a piece of sheet metal 1 inch wider than the void left and then flange 1/2 inch on each side of the patch downward. Then we puntch holes every 3 inches in the flanged areas and plug weld each side to the old parts when done you end up with a smooth repair just takes a light skim of mud.Or one my dart I wasn`t worried about factory looks I cut the factory wheel tub 2 inches inside the center seam and then made the inside portion of my tub with sheetmetal formed to fit the shape of the factory outer wheel house i also roll beads for strength, you end up with a 90 degree edge were it turns down towards the rail so theres more tire room. The only problem is moving the trunk spring mounts in were the outher way you can retain the factory mount. On my 1969 dart with fabed inner half of tub I was able to fit 315 60 15 tires with room to spare.Thats the ways we have found work well.
