Goodmark are nice, but far from nos in my opinion. Mine definetly needed some work to fit right and wasn't due to the car. I see amd will have full 68-70 runner quarters too, might try a set on my 70.

I know what ya mean there... I had to pull the ds in to fit up with the filler panel and then it got a little bow in the roof area I had to fix... was alot of work to get right.
Use a grinder wheel and just barely cut in a line close to the edge 1 inch back but not thru across where you need to bend it up. That'll relieve stress and it can bend without distorting the rest of the roof above. Then you can slide the quarter up inside. Punch back down the lip and weld after. That area gets filled and covered later on.

Mines already done, just didn't expect one to go on fine and not need much then the other need a good bit of work. Still better than patch panels, but wish they fit a little better!

Just curious 70Chally was it the right side that went on with out much work? Clonedcuda and I just test fit the right quarter on his project and it seemed to fit fairly well to me, but then again I'm used to the junk we used to have to chop up and beat into submission.
Thanks Bob

If anyone think's The Goodmark 1/4's are ok then they are a true Hack and the type of guy that paints his car with 2 inch 1/4 lips. I have been restoring Mopars only for 20 years and also been in tool and die for 15+ years. The goodmark 1/4's are bad in these area's and they will remain this way because they don't care and they told me they do not care. They have the blind leading the blind.
1st and worst the 1/4 from door jam to inner wheel house is 3/16 to short .
2nd wheel lip end's/tapper's down to 3/8 and should be .890 (7/8) not .375 (3/8) on a 7 to 8 inch run so get the welder out and add it as if it's rusted off.
3rd - The 1/2 inch or .460 missing metal near the 1/4 window were it scalup's up and meet's the sail area. Again get the welder out b/c this give's you a hole under the end of you belt moling and should have painted surface under and 3/16 beond.
4th The slot's fot your window felts are .140 to high this is over an 1/8 inch and leaves your window felt and the stainless part of it up above the painted surface like a shark fin. 5th- get the welder out again and weld up the hole in the window to ducthman area just like the rusted panel you just took off.
It need's lot's of skilled triming however I dont mind removing metal myself but the fact that you need to leave your 1/4 on at the jam /cut and but weld to make the 1/4 longer is insain and the entire area under the 1/4 window should be used off your old 1/4 as well really more or less a must if you use the panel. This is an 70% finished stamping not anything close to oem quality as it's to short. It look's like it could have been nice if the part was finished but you can fix even a super rusty 1/4 with less work this need's welding and detail front to back and side to side .Has some other thing's I won't bother telling about in rocker area but I think it's for clone's like 318 cars. Also like I said you better leave your old 1/4 on so you can make the new one longer . Also the guy in charge of quality at goodmark said cut it up and do whatever it's a restoration part not oem and was not nice to me at all.I will never buy goodmark again and will never install any goodmark metal for anyone after all the rude thing's he said to me. Amd is not selling the 1/4's yet let's hope they are a oem quality.

The right side definetly fit better. And this car had bit hit some on that side, so was suprised it did fit so well.
Like the post above says, don't expect to just install them, weld right up and be done. They need alot, not sure they are worth it over the patch style panels are not. I prefer to keep as much of the original metal as I can. Leave the gaps, etc... factory.

Just curious, who was the supplier for Year One's quarter panels from a few years back, was it a Japanese/foreign manufacturer and thus a no name brand? The common complaint was the tickness of the gauge of metal Year One's supplier was producing, are the Goodmarks at least equal to OEM in tickness. Tickness?!?! Sometimes I wonder, these repro parts that everyone seems to hate to install, when all is said and done, these are the same cars we all continue to drool over, so is it that big of a deal. Maybe its a case of we the spectators don't see or know the flaws, but you as the owner knows what is wrong. I can feel for the newest Goodmark owners and all the struggles you go through to make these quarter panels fit, because once you cut your original quarter off at a certain spot...its too late to go back. Most of you guys here are the best and proud to be a member and your efforts on these restos is to be highly commended. Remember: men are the best improvisers, and with a welder in hand...anything is possible. You're the living proof (drool!)

The patch style panels are not even remotely close at the rear and valance areas. I don't expect any reproduction panel to fit like NOS but it's either close enough to work with or it isn't. Convertibles are not even close. I agree that it's always best to leave as much of the original as possible. You work with the best that you have available and if you have to fit and fabricate you do it. If that's not an option then you must be a hack.

I'm the first to admit that I'm a hack, and have no body skills at all--what little I do know, was self taught.
my full quarters from goodmark are still in the box, and they will sit there until i can pay someone to do it for me. I hoped that the full quarters would be a better starting point than the skins previously available, and better than having to fabricate it all by hand.
I worked at a resto shop for a bit doing mechanical work--rebuilding suspensions, engines, etc. and watched them fabricate entire sheets of metal to patch up a car because nobody is making anything for them--1955 Packard Carribean convertibles...you either have a donor car to cut from, or you make the metal yourself.
40 hours of work and all that they got replaced was maybe 5 or 6 square feet of floor panels. that would equate to nearly $2500 for the customer to pay simply to replace floor sections.
imagine how long it takes when replacing quarters on those cars, with all those curves and creases!
