Wow!! That looks pretty shabby. After hearing Rons observations and seeing those pics I think I'll stick with Bob.

You sir can got to hell! I would use other words but this is a family site. I never said I had one of his k-members, just the control arms. The pic of the broken one is from the tool with the pro street Road Runner that had no business running race car parts on the street!
I really hate this place some times, it would seem that many members here are just a bunch of fear mongers, if one person has a problem or something blows up all the broken parts are condemed as garbage. Wether it's Indy heads, Comp lifters, 440 Sorce, Mopar Performance, Magnum Force who ever the flavour of the day is. You people have your preferred suppliers and that is the only places that are "worthy" for everyone to buy from. These are aftermarket race parts and should be treated as such, a drag car is not a street car and these parts are not designed for dodging potholes and curbs.
So on that note I will race with my CAP upper control arms knowing that they will not fail because I know what they are intended for.
crogen80 welcome to my ignore list, you are the only one there. That is all, I will not post on this topic again. And you never did answer my question, "DO YOU HAVE A RACE CAR??" Steve

OK, the original post was asking for a street car.
Chris, I will give you two of your own words/reasons to be careful what parts you use.
WIFE
STREET
But you will have to evaluate what you have and make your own decision.

Thank you to all of you who have responded, particularly Ron, as I have seen your attention to detail with your Demon and the Valiant......they speak for themselves. I have one of the first Alterktion front ends on my race car, and it has been outstanding in every way. The only reason why I inquired about the CAP stuff, is because I got a fairly good deal on the K-frame for my Valiant. Bob's stuff looks good, but, does he make his front end kit for the 63-66 A-bodies?? Once again, Thank you, to all of you that have responded. Ron, I forgot to add that, not only will my wife be rumbling around in this thing, my two boys will most likely be in the backseat, grinning from ear to ear. (I have brainwashed them early)

First off I have no stock in CAP.But I can tell you I have put 5 sets of his uppers on. The picture is BS PLAIN AND SIMPLE.The dumba$$ ran over the curb or something. I have a customer that had a wreck in his Duster. He was hit in the front end at 70 mph and the control arm held up great.I have stood cars on the back bumper and had hard landings with no problem. So to the people that bad mouth a company because of one picture it pisses my off. Key board racers get a life.

The K-Members are supposedly made out of DOM mild steel. But the second one he sent me had a piece of welded tubing with a seam. I only knew this because I asked that he send mine unpainted.

That in itself is enough to make me never buy anything from them. That's about as dishonest as they come. I'm surprised they didn't use black pipe.

Looking at the Caps website and customers rides, I'm sure I recognise a few cars that are on there. Mine is one of them. I've ordered the parts but haven't fitted them yet. I got the uppers from Mancinis but the dynamic struts and tie rod adjusters from Ray. I also bought them before I saw this thread. I'm pretty confident that they'll be up to the job, going off the positive testamonials on here. I don't plan on driving into the kerb either but these things happen. I will be keeping an eye on things but I would have done that with anyones stuff. Just my I've done a quick google and as far as I can tell, Drawn Over Mandrel steel tubing does indeed have a welded seam.

I bought a set of UCA's , LCA's, and Adjustable strut rods from CAP. Ray was great to deal with and the product has held up to several hard landings from wheelies... Alignment still good, and the welds look good. Cheers, Arnie
