1969 Charger 383 4bbl auto with A/C  - Carter AVS carb.  Turquoise ENGINE Here's a  "problem child" - "Spring Special" Charger with A/C and a CARTER carb'd TURQUOISE engine. How? What? Why?Was this a running change (spring '69) away from Holley on the non-performance applications. GG's "white book" lists the 4616S used without A/C & the 4638S used with A/C.

I am kicking this one back into the light for a couple reasons... to show an interesting buildsheet remnant for a '69 383, 4 speed car with A/C and to try and find out what carb I should be running on my car.
Have a look. The carb number is damaged a bit but by simple deduction of what is left, the number could either be a "3" or a "2". I am guessing '38' for the carb number.
I have a '69 383 roadrunner with 4 speed and A/C. I am not entirely sure after reading this thread and looking at this build sheet WHAT carb I should be running. I have heard 4711S, I have read 4615S and now I am seeing (possibly) this third choice - a holley 4440A.
I don't know what car this build sheet came out of but there is enough info on it to determine it was a '69 330 horse 383 (897 code), 4 speed (603 code) with H51. Most likely a B-body based on the trans number.
In another thread - more recent - I have been told an AVS 4711S is the correct carb for my application. Now I don't know what to think.
Any ideas?

back in 78 I bought a 68 R/T Charger 4 speed Dana.. It had a Holley and that car was as stock as stock could be. A self proclaimed Charger expert said ti wasnt stock.. In 81 I bought my 71 RR383 air grabber car. It had a factory Holley on it. The 67 440 New Yorker that my dad has was Holley equiped..
I am truckless..
