The 070 wheel is close , but it is still a 15 inch center in a 15 x 7 band. Where as the 450 wheel is a 14 inch center in a 15 x 7 inch ralley wheel band ( dropped center band ). Yes the repop 450 wheels can be made , finding the right 14 inch center is the hardest part for me.
Frank
Sorry, but that is incorrect. The 070 has the same 14" center section. I have both 450 and 070s and there is no visible difference between the two outside of the part number and dates.
14" centers on both the 450 & 070 wheels. Look at the pics mccannix posted above of the #3580070 wheels. (#2944 450 & #3580 070)
They use the same hoop & trim ring as a 15x7" "rallye wheel", which have the same center as 14" "rallye wheels". (#2944 390 & #3580 071)
So ..... what's the difference (besides years) why two part numbers? Made in CANADA vs. Made in USA???

I agree, I have a couple of 070's and a set of 450's and out of curiosity I studied them side by side this morning and apart from the part number they appear to be identical...

That orange 070 looks familiar.. ..resided in Tn, Md, Pa, NY, then Canada, NY and Pa again, now finally back in Md. Got more miles in transit then it did on any car.

HPMike,
I still have the 450 wheel/Goodyear Polyglas spare tire setup I purchased from you, I will sell it back for the same $. Then you would only need 3 more.

Ken:
Like I said earlier, I don't think I have it in me to round up another set of 450's. That was a painful experience. The low mile hemi Challenger HAD to have them, but the 70 R/T can get by with a reasonable facsimile.
Quick story on the wheel and tire referrred to by Ken.
Couple of years ago, I am looking for the proper wheels for the 71. I have 3 450's and looking for the fourth. I come across this absolutely perfect spare tire/450 wheel and tire setup. G60-15 tire in absolutely brand new condition, all paint lines intact on the tread with the wheel showing all of the original paint in perfect condition. The pic doesn't do justice, it's as nice a spare tire takeout as you will ever see. The rim would have worked, but the tire is obviously wrong as it was out of a B Body. I just didn't have the heart to split it up so I sold it to Ken. Took quite some time to find the last rim, but I am glad I didn't break that up. That spare tire/rim needs to go in an over the top restored 71 B body. Frankly I am surprised Gibson,Wellborn or the like hasn't pried that away from you. It is special, no doubt.

Mike, I feel the same way, it won't be coming apart by me! It's just too nice of an correct original/untouched spare tire setup to take apart. It belongs back in one of those special 71 cars.

I pulled a set ov 15x6.5's off my 73 Newport, that if i remember correctly (heh heh... its been a while...) had similar looking centers. I was also told at the time that those rims were 'good for making 70-71 7" steelie rims out ov'. Hmmm... i should go and dig those puppies up...
Also, with the 450's smaller inner diameter, should i assume that one might have disc brake clearance issues with anything over 11" discs? Like, even the 12" mopar disc swap? If thats the case then i'd be stuck with the generic later 15x7's anyways.
