Finally got the big truck back together. Now has a lot of head work done on the Stage 5's. 2.14 intakes/1.81 exhaust valves, new guides, new springs, ridiculous amount of porting and polishing. New Isky .525 cam to replace the .484 purple stripe. New forward pattern manual valve body and Turbo Action 3800 converter. Front end weight loss by removing all the A/C and heater stuff. Hopefully I'll get to try it out this weekend. It will either go 7.50's or better in the 1/8 mile or it'll go to the scrap yard.

Is everyone telling me that they don't have enough confidence in the 440 that it will push that big old truck to a 7.50 in the 1/8 mile. I will admit the best it has run was an 8.53 but that was when it wouldn't shift, up against the rev limiter, with different heads, cam, carburetor, converter, valve body, etc. Only time will tell and I'll let Bryce know which scrap yard. He's closest and will probably be able to get there first.

It didn't go good but a lot of exceuses for not putting it in the scrap yard. It went 8.18, 8.19, 8.13 and 8.12. Misread the time slip on the first pass. My best 60' was on the first pass 1.81. Should have gone up in launch rpm from there but went down. On the 8.12 pass the 60' was 1.84. Tires are to big and it wants more rpm. Only had a 6000 chip. Next time smaller tires with a 6500 chip and it'll be in the 7's no problem. And the density altitude was at 2500 or more so at sea level it would have been in the 7's. It'll make it.

that and the fact that its a sweet truck is reason enough to keep it

Well, got a call today, package is in the the mail,complete woodgrain moulding set. Hoping UPS don't damage it,plus extras,gonna feel like x-mas....all nos.

Went to a little outdoor show Saturday (88 cars). Actually had a couple of Dodge pickups in the '73-2005 Pickup class. I won first in class again. The old truck cleans up pretty good, but enjoy not doing a killer clean job for an indoor show.
