Freind of mine had a Basin Blue cuda like that minus the white vinyl top. That one was 3 speed on the floor very nice car. Yours will be very nice when done. I sympahize with the blue interior they are very hard to find and everyone I have ever seen has been chalky.

Thanks for your encouragement. It is a slow project dictated by funds or the lack thereof.
The tail panel is now complete. Put organisol over the flat black the paint people put on. Have the lights in and wired. Bumper put on and restored bumper to body filler installed. The rough looking chrome piece on the quarter is going to be replaced. I want to do the entire three pieces at once.

Meanwhile, I am replacing the A904 with a lockup A904. It is apart on the bench now with a new TF2 shift kit, Alto Red Seals and Kolene steels going in. I am waiting for a bushing kit. Dumb me thought they would be in the master kit but they were not. Should have it together next weekend.

It looks like you left your bumper fillers natural. Is that the way they came from the factory? I thought they may have been painted with textured argent. No?

Nice car! I too have a Basin Street Blue 73 Barracuda. Mine is a 318 904 with 8 3/4 diff. Blue interior. Few options. Same sort of condition as yours too. I plan to start the resto later this year. I bought goodmark fenders and plan to buy everything else from AMD.
Have you found a source for the correct headliner? The 73-74 material is a ribbed material sort of like corduroy. I have not found this type anywhere yet.

Here is a closeup of the headliner. This came from Legendary. Not sure how accurate it is but I like the looks of it.

About the bumper fillers. I looked my original unrestored 73 Barracuda and mine are definitely moulded in grey. No paint or texture.

The Challengers Had the textured paint on the fillers the 74 I had had been painted over in body color and when I removed the paint the silver texture was underneth(I believe they were the color of the tail panel, weather it be black or silver.

my 74 also was ab5, interior too, yet it wasn't a metallic B5, the door panels were really nice just needed dyed to get the consistancy back, I think it'd been garage kept though.

NICE work on a very nice car, I like the later models too.

The Challenger rears were painted argent along with the tail panel. 72 was the only year that the Rallyes came with black tail panels. Challenger front fillers were just molded rubber...no paint.

That's why I wondered about the Cuda rears. I thought maybe it was like the Challenger and the fronts were the only ones left natural.

Progress to report. The rebuild on the transmission is done. Put in a low gear cluster into the transmission. Full transmission kit with Alto Red frictions and Kolene steels. This transmission was in great shape before I opened it up. The clutch frictions were near new. The rebuild kit came with 8 frictions and 8 steels. There was an extra friction in one of the packs so I had to buy another one. Also replaced the output bearing just because it was open. TF-2 shift kit was added as well as the modification to the lockup valve that addresses an issue with early lockup and shudder in a Chrysler service bulletin. None of the Mopar kits are available any more so I bought a TF-TQ shift kit that has the replacement spring to raise the lockup to 40MPH. 25 bucks for a spring and a drill to open a passage.
Kind of frustrating to have it build but no motor yet to hook it up to to test.

I got samples back from SMS upholstery and they have the correct material for our 72-74 E bodies in the correct colors.
They quoted me $265 for a headliner. Twice as much as the Legendary versions but in the proper corduroy looking material.
