I would not let headers stop me from moving up in the power department, that's for sure. but we all have our limits. IMO stepping up 150+ hp and NOT getting new headers is a big mistake. FWIW in the right hands a set of MC's flow pretty well to. Mine are right at 460 oval intake ports and all.

I know Scott and already have the B1 stuff and it works great. But, I have $2800 invested in 2 sets of headers, and can use some NOS if I need to. I also want to run S/C and the car running 7.40's can be kinda unruly now. So...when I get ready to buy, which will be in a year or so, I might cahnge my mind. But for now, the PSO's seem to be the best option. Heck, if the economy gets much worse, I might not be racing in a year!

Most of the info here is good, but there is some that was not given. TS heads are available in various versions. 4.800, 4.840 and 4.900 bore spacings. Wedge, HEMI and "Wayne County" head bolt patters, so a casting is made for about any block you have. Lifter geometry is not bad. Better with moved lifter bores, but is not a "must do". Are no where near usable out of the box, they need extensive work, as they are basically hunks of alum with a few holes. Rocker gear is no problem, Jesel or T&D. Same as Predators, you will need a sheetmetal intake. Now all that said, if your goal is to run a little T/D, I believe I would keep what I had and invest in a nitrous system, lots cheaper way to gain a couple hundred HP.

Looking at running Top Dragster huh? It is gonna get crazy with the ET's there real quick. We had aspirations to run T/S but gasve that up once we saw NHRA heading that way. Those cars are also gonna get out of hand in a hurry. no room for us little guys anymore. I hear the new Medium Dragster class is gonna kick butt
That's the problem, is that people are just going so fast in a program that pays $1200 to win, and they will always have more money and be faster than me. I thought if I was going to upgrade and the B1 TS stuff was a reasonable upgrade, that might be the way to go. But I would want to do it right, and as Monte said, offset lifter bores are not required, but they are the right way to go. So.....if I can keep the same headers and such, and pick up 150HP, I can set up with another 175 shot to get in the show. That should allow me to play for a few more years. Al, were you joking about medium dragster? And thanks to all for the advise and help!
