You'll lose more from the 59 degree lifter than you will from the angle of the pushrod to the rocker.

if your looking to put w2's on a street motor i would suggest a closed chamber w2 to get a good quench for pump gas and not the open chamber. ask me how i know.

Pushrod angles from farther back.

Im a rookie but wouldnt pushrod angles like that shown i about 15 degrees from the cam perpendicular reduce the gross lift about 25%

(cos)15=.75 +/-

Its no where near a 25% loss but it is some

umm...what calculator are you using? cos(15)=0.965925....

I believe the only diference are will you need a longer pushrod.... valve lift will be the same.

The only real problem with the angle of the intake
pushrod is that it side loads the rocker more than
the exhaust pushrod with is pretty straight. My
back up engine is a roller W-2 and it runs great...
went 9.50 with it for a pretty low compression engine

RyanJ - I have a couple of sets of econos and race heads(w2-long valve) that I have had for 20+ years
I have alot more port work on the econos then the race
Bought mopar roller rockers (blue) shafts, &(alum)stands about 20 years ago
After milling pedistals down and moving hole back in shafts roller is still way of center of valve tip.
I know the rockers will need clearencing for the springs and still have to clearence for push rods.
Could I call you and pick your brain a bit?

You will loose quite a bit of lift, the more offset you have the more lift you loose, I found this out the hard way...

on a .400 lobe cam and 1.5:1 rocker the lift is .600 I figure with pushrod angle of 15 degrees the lift will be .579

.400 x .9659 = .386 x 1.5 = .579 lift at the valve

I understand what you're trying to do but, the pushrod angle doesn't affect the lobe lift.

edit: Never mind, I see what you are doing.

When we made our own rockers I looked into this a bit,we measured lift on both the lifter and the valve and ended up with 1.42-1 ratio with 1.7 rockers
This was with 59* block and .900 offset rocker...
just a thing to consider when you choose camshaft

My w5 motor was spot on the camcard lift with Harland sharp rockers. Exactly 0.643 on intake. dont know if Hs take the angle of the pushrods in calcs when making their rockers, but they are equal in lengths with the ex rockers so idont think so.

I think my example was on the extreme side, we had to use a lot of offset on those Swedish made heads
