Its funny, it used to be we couldnt get anything, then we had everything, then there were none, now we have a few, and Hemi blocks are in abundance. Go figure.

You are right, it is funny how it is all playing out. When we started casting, we had no idea that someone would want our blocks in a smaller bore. Now we are seeing more people lean that way.

Looking around, the koleno block is slightly more $$ than the world block but the koleno has all 5 main caps bolted, world only 4.Koleno has the priority oiling, arp hardware and bushed lifter bores. What does the world block weigh?Koleno is 300 even.

An aftermarket block that was iron weighing less than stock would scare me. There is a reason why Koleno blocks as well as World blocks are so heavy

AH that 137 is the aluminum version. Indy does not make an iron block. They did long ago but they weigh a ton.

Yes, your right Todd. I think most aftermarket aluminum blocks will weigh about the same. I was just pointing out that aftermarket iron blocks will weigh more than stock iron blocks because they are designed better. Thats why an iron block now is around 300lbs vs 230lbs back then.

not to start anything here as im sure the kaleno is a nice peice but I got my world aluminum block with bushed lifter bores extra ribbing across the valley and the back of the block is drilled for a chevy tranny for under $4k! However I really like the feature of plumbing into the front of the block for the oiling system cause this is going into an A body.... moparts is a great to help you make the right decision for us "rookies"

They make a 3/8th to 1/2" adapter if you wanna run a pickup or just have it plugged up like mine for external oiling... no more drilling!

I bought everything from the board sponsors on here!

If you don't mind me asking, how do you mount a starter if you use a chevy trans?

OK..

I misunderstood your question..

You would bolt it in the same place and get a 130 tooth flexplate/flywheel..

www.reactorproducts.com ask for Olan

Chris..

What I mean is, how does a dual bellhousing block help you? How would you mount a starter???

Marty,You still have to have a mid plate to locate the starter in the stock chrys location. The advantage is you can bolt directly thru trans case to block without having the second bolt pattern to first mount the mid plate at chrys location. Then have the chevy location to bolt the trans to the plate.
