Ok I will play along. Intersted to see what you get from the Moroso slide rule as we have dynoed the motor. Here you go. B1MC with oval ports done by Mike Duke Racing

Hello,

Also the engines with the larger bores allow the heads to achieve a greater amount of their full potential flow for a given combo.

This is a pretty cool site for racer math.

When I punch the number into the Wallace calculator using Weight and MPH it spits out some ridiculous number like 1146hp. I dont put alot of faith in their numbers...The engine dynoed at 1050 at Pettis' place. We all know how dyno and flow bench numbers go though. Also as Greg points out DA does have a big afect on MPH and ET numbers. FWIW when we went 168+ the DA was 1586'

One other variable is the coefficient of drag and frontal area of each vehicle. I does make a difference.

I agree. weight also. Compare yours, Al's and mine. you and I have the same head (-500 lbs) 15mph diff. Al has 25% more flow (+500 lbs) and run almost the same mph. Streetwise is also correct in chassis efficiency. Your ladder bar chassis could be more efficient and Al has more left in his also. I think I was lucky and had just the right match of parts and combination.

Is that with a 1.88" valve?

Another thing is the bigger motors are in similar sized cars to the littler ones, both size motors are pushing the same aproximate frontal area and if it costs both motors say 200 hp at a given speed the bigger motor will have more spare power for acceleration and apear to make more hp even if flow when up proportianly.

Better statement:

Peak CFM x .257 x Number of Cylinders, provided that the mean velocity does not fall below X during the torque range.

Otherwise, it "proves" that replacing a TF intake port with a 4" sewer pipe doubles HP.

I agree. What does X equal?

I am just trying to get a brooder database from actual cars.
Just to see where the HP per CFM theory stacks up or to
formulate my own.
