It's distortion by the camera. In person they're straight. They're just a gimmick anyways and will be sanded off before final paint. Beer and nothing better to do usually finds time to do something silly like that.
Yes, that's a Shelby you spy. It's Rick's (71autoxr) brother's GT350.

I'll jump in here, the body, for the most part, is pretty straight. The roof has a large patch from the sunroof removal/repair, the hood was grafted from a later e-body hood, the fender is a combination of two fenders. Both doors, and both quarters have very minimal filler. The passengers side fender has very little filler. A lot of the pictures show bare metal with some prior tan-ish primer that is in good shape with no need for us to strip off, and should not be confused with filler. I think the car was a pretty typical transportation vehicle for a great number of years and just wracked up some minor dents and dings, but as far as we can tell nothing major. Both quarter panels are original as well as both doors. The goal is just to have a decent driver for Mike's daughter, which will be a daily driver, and not to spend too much money or time. So far I think were into it for 8-10 days labor and Mike will have less than $1000 into it for body work beer and paint. Seeing the car in this stage has given Mike new life for the project and may have already ordered all the parts to rebuilt the front end and do the v-8 swap after paint.

Wurd... As Rick mentioned, I think you are confusing filler with the color of paint we left on the car. There were 7-8 layers of primer and paint. The only areas we took all the way to metal were the hood and roof. Other areas we got down to smooth paint and left it. The only filler we have used was on the roof, hood, and Frankenstein driver's fender...and it was only used to cover welds. The lower rear quarters also have patches welded in, so there's a little filler there too. There's less than 1/16" in the deepest areas. The rest of the car is straight and rust free. The only rust we did find, Rick filled with lead instead of plastic...did a damn fine job too, I must say. In the days we have spent, there were some surprises we uncovered when we began stripping. Those surprises have been addressed and we're no worse for the wear. Thanks all for the encouraging comments. Hopefully by March we'll have it in paint. I know my daughter is getting excited seeing it all in primer now. I have more plans for it than my wallet can handle, so little by little it will be taken care of. No front end parts yet...

I'm thinking more like end of January. I've got my own cars to work on too!!
Yep, I know. We have to wish for some warmer weather...I don't think we want to paint when it's 50* out.
You know I'm there for the rest of the projects we have lined up...

You do realize that you're gonna take some crap on here for that comment? It's the rain we need to get rid of.
That too...

All those layers of paint would certainly give it that look of a leopard as you are trying to get the body ready for paint. It looks like your hard work is paying off.
Your car is in great shape compared to my project. The rust has really taken its toll on mine. I wish I had a vehicle as solid as yours.
Sorry to hear you have a major rust project on your hands. I used to live in upstate NY, so I've seen my fair share. That's one of the biggest reasons I moved down here...rust-free sheet metal.

It looks like your hood stripes dripped off the edge of the hood, and down the street.
