I need the year he was born and I need ideas designing a decal for the A cars for this years remaining shootouts. How about his long hair silhouette with his life years, GR (Moparts sig) or PW. 2010 Hemi Shootout? 4x4" or 6x6" etc.
PS I was to cut that long hair at Indy. We talked about 10 times during the Superbowl and of course since. Looks like I get to cut Bales hair????? Stephen

I was looking at the Carrillo website last night and noticed they have SS Hemi rods with the Honda rod journal size and it said they are LEGAL. Then I looked at the NHRA website for the legal rods and they listed several Carrillo rods with the BE to be specified. Itty-bitty rod journal for big heavy Hemi rods (still 833g) and heavy pistons. Whose making the cranks that survive the 9500 RPM with tiny rod journals? Sorry if I've been sleeping through the rule changes.

We took my dads car to martin saturday, this is in car video of me driving. Been wanting to do this for a while, just now getting around to it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXHEr2NNM70
heres my dad running after me, had to lift when the rear end broke loose in 4th gear.

CWJ, we ran the audio through the same "Jonesie looking for Red October" program like we did Daniels. Yours was a little harder as the camera is over the passenger side header. Still got it but the camera centered is better.
Here are our findings: We examined the audio of the YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXHEr2NNM70 which depicts the "warfish" 4-speed hemi shifting through gears 1 to 4, starting around 1 minute into the video and lasting approximately 10 seconds. (See attached frequency domain plot) Here are the estimates of the RPM's Gear LowRpm HighRpm ============================= 1 6100 9335 2 6720 9600 3 6935 9530 4 6600 9750
WOW!
Notes: 1. Assumption: V-8, 4-cycle engine 2. Estimated error: +/- 75 RPM 3. 1st harmonic was highly damped, only vestigially visible 4. 5th harmonic had best SNR and was used for the analysis 5. FFT settings: 4096Hz sampling rate, Gaussian filter to reduce ripple In general this audio sample was a little harder to analyze, but I was finally able to coax the signals out for measurement.
PS Saftey 1st, gloves and neck brace next time. This is all in fun and see you at Indy. Stephen
