You and your car are impressive, as always. I'm curious though, your 60' is WAY fast for the et and the mph a little low. Maybe too much gear or converter? Just wondering. Congrats on the new best.

Mark, I just don't know. This car has always showed better ET than the mph indicates. In the present combo, I have the shift light at 6500 rpm, and cross the finish line about 6900. When I changed from the 4.56 gears to the 4.30 gears, nothing changed (sixty foot, ET or mph) just lowered the finish line rpm. When I took the 5400 rpm 8" converter out and put in a 5400 9", it runs exactly the same. I think the chassis is making good use of the horsepower/torque available to run those ETs. Then again, many people at this ET are running 2-speed transmissions and killing their starting line ratio. In the summer, it would run 1.27, 9.35, 140 mph. This fall weather (cool, dry, high baro) with the Ron's injection is making insane sixty foot times! Then again, maybe it is the flat tappet solid lifter cam that makes better torque, but not horsepower, than a roller cam...

By the way, curious just what your front/rear weights are?
I dug out the log book from 2004 when I found a track with a scale that was pretty flat driving on and off. So I put the front wheels on then the total, then the backs only:
Front: 1768 Rear : 1400
It is even worse now since I don't use the 5 gallon fuel cell in the trunk, but rather a 4 gallon in the front for the mechanical pump on the injection. Plus I gained some weight since then, etc. for the total now with me at 3210.
428RR, I have been running solid lifter cams (flat tappet) forever. I already had the push rods, springs, cam, dist drive, etc. so changing to a roller cost more money. Maybe someday, but it won't be a spring killing agressive roller if I ever do.
I lost count how many years I ran my old Scott Brown cam and lifters. I put the current CC cam in the car in 2008. I still have the cam and lifters from that build for my "back up" (spare parts) motor. It was 272/280 at 0.050" and I ran it in everything from my 451 to my 511 CID.
