What a great thread. It may sound corny, but these rigs are unbelievably cool and a unique piece of Mopar racing history. I was told that Sox & Martin and Dick Landy brokered these rigs for Chrysler. Note Sox & Martin sticker on the rear corner of McEwen's truck. Can anyone confirm that? Stewart, Please chime in.
I'm not sure about the earlier rigs but I was told by Scott Koffel that his father, Dave Koffel sr. handed out 7 or 8 of the 1975 car haulers to the factory backed super stock racers when he was director of the drag race program for Chrysler. To his recollection, the haulers went to Leal, Hagen, Rossi, Lilly, Landy to name a few. I think by that time in history, Sox and Martin had closed up shop for the most part.

Back in about 89-90 when I was about 8 years old my dad owned a 1968 crewcab dodge with a 20-22 box truck. It was orange with a white box. I didnt like it at the time, but I saw it a few years back at Monster Mopar Weekend in STL, MO and the person we sold it to restored it. It looked awesome. To bad we didnt have the time or money to do it like he did . It would have been neat to have towing a 68 hemi dart around..maybe someone will post that truck justin
Interested in having you car wired? Drag car, street car, EFI swap?
