I think the number of guys on here who're concerned at all about stock heads is dwindling rapidly. With the affordability of aftermarket heads these days, it's hard to justify putting work into stock heads. If you can't afford aftermarket, IMO the OP would be best off just working with the heads he has for now. Meaning clean them up, maybe a set of new valve seals and springs and run em until he's got the dough for aftermarket.

Lot's of variables on the sealing issue...That's why they put that little slip of paper in the box with the new intakes telling you to check the mating surfaces before the final install....
