I wonder if the new Dougs headers are from slip joint city like the originals?
Yes, the Doug's headers that are still sold today for the early Abodies have some slip joints, although not as many as what is pictured.
Thanks. Just wanted to store that in the memory bank for when it comes time to fix my early A-body.

All the D/Darts were white GT's with a red interior. Since your buddy's car was yellow, it probably was a Dart GT with the 273-235HP engine.
Sounds like a GT with the Hi-Po, commonly mistaken for the D/Dart.

I have a set of headers that one tube on each side go through the fenderwell and then bolts up on the bottom of the collector area .Who makes these or what brand are they. The set I had was brand new and looked to be pretty OLD. We used them on a 69 Dart for a few weeks and engine break in and when I gave the car to my Soninlaw he wanted to go with an original set of 340 manifolds I had. So we swapped them out and repaired the holes in the fenderwell of the 69 Swinger. I thought about using them on my 67 Dart Gasser but I want a FULL FENDERWELL HEADER for it.If anyone is needing a set like them I may be selling them before too long.

It would be right in the middle of Kellogg now. That was before they widened the road in the early 70s. I worked at the Vickers station across the street at Kellogg and Erie. There was a Fina next door, they are all gone. They would be 2 blocks west of Sunnyside school, if you know where that is. I noticed the Ceros candy store has also moved.

Are we sure there wasn't any other D-darts built? They didn't build 64 Hemi hardtops either.Built 35.No hemi 4 doors, built 3-5.There was a car I saw a few years back that looked to be a D-dart here locally. It had the headers, 4 spd and the codes on the tag.Car was a lt blue w/blue int 2 dr sedan.Unrestored.Not saying it was real but it sure looked to be.I would like to view it again and take a longer look at it.

Well the Ceros was half way between Sunnyside school and the Vickers station. Syl's Fina was next to the Ceros. Harolds was directly across the street. The last remaining parking lot light, finally came down just a few years ago. I was just astounded at 16 years old, someone would and could, do that to a brand new car. Of course, they wouldn't let me hang around, but I did sneak a few peaks at it. Loved how it sounded when they were tuning on it.
