I hope the plastic crate isn't a jack stand.....

I'm sure JB Weld and some rubbing compound will have you back on the track in no time.

The blue tape didn't work on Bills transmissions so I doubt it will work on windows. (Sorry Bill I couldn't resist)

Me thanks the rod bearing locked up first, which siezed on the crank breaking the rod which hit the cam, breaking it making it fall down into the rotating crankshaft and ended up lodging, for a nano second, between the block main web and the rotaing crankshaft cracking the block, maybe not sorry for your loss

Cab good guess- cam was still in perfect shape not a mark on it - all other bearing came out perfect - I have seen this before - the main cap was loose it bled oil enough to starve the rod foe awhile then finally ceased the bearing.

I got to say when the man tears something up, he sure does it right.

I hope you got your money out of that one, cause as they said, this one is done.

Sorry to see it.

You didn't get that much heat in the rod journal from a broken main web... The main bearings would tell that tale.. Those rod journals were smokin..

I pointed that out in the the thread last week that he posted, it spun a rod bearing first...

This one does not owe me anything. The bottom end was put together back in 2000 and was set up with the MW heads and intake and in my 70 Challenger that I drove on the street for a while. Then it went into my 64 car in 04 and into the 63 in the last year..... It has done well for me and I had fun with it.

Man, that thing is "Don Rickles ugly." If you've got access to a REALLY big oven, and some big boxes, and some sand, yeah, you could maybe salvage it...

If that cracked main bolt hole is why it broke isn't that why they use aluminum caps?

Of course my thoughts are that is just a result of the rods seizing not the cause. I don't see that causing a significant loss of lube to the rods with out takeing out the main long before

I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!

if you think it was a main that got loose first, allowing oil pressure to bleed off at the main bearing, starving the rods for oil, and thus, the spun rod bearing...would a block girdle/main cap system have prevented that?
