Aluminum rods have come a long ways. The days of 200 laps and out and no street use are gone. A modern aluminum rod, like a GRP will last a long time and can be run on the street. They're also much more forgiving in a engine failure. Just my

Absolutely. Finish off the bottom end with a Fonzie crank, Potsy bearings, Mr. C. oiling system, and Joanie blower pistons with Chachi wrist pins.

I wouldnt go with a 4.5 stroke for that motor..Its just not needed.
I would do a 4.25 stroke, and 4.5 bore...makes 540 inchs.

Whats the reason you are only going with a 4.35 bore?
If your not wanting to max the block out the first go around, do what i did. I went with a 4.44 bore. This was with a Indy Maxx block, in case something happened I have extra cylinder walls thickness for a few overbores.

given the bb bore spacing limitations i could never understand why people insist on going right to a 4.5" bore. 4.44 is what i went with. i know i've seen bores over 4.5" but the gasket purchase between the cylinders gets pretty thin imho

Tell us more about your blown combo.

4.5x 4.25 stroke Brand X with BB 2XTRA CNC heads, Old Hampton 1471 alky injected. No dyno numbers yet...but should be ready by spring.

I truly think that the 4.5 x 4.25 engine makes a better combo, even though the Hemi will be 572 also.
Real World experience tells me that Naturally aspirated those engine given all else the same make no more power, and the 4.25 stroke is easy on parts.

I started with a 4.310 bore with my mega block with a 4.5 stroke.I wanted a small bore so that when I blew it up I would have plenty of roon for next time. That's about 521 ci.I swallowed a valve and now it's up to 540 still with room to grow

HEMI-ITIS has no cure.
My condition is fully BLOWN!!
