Being 17, I'm guessing you want to spend very little on one. Summit has a Hughes Performance at $230. It will stall to about 2000 rpm. If you want more stall, then the price goes up.
Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!

engine came out of my car, it's a 360 longblock with some mild porting to the heads, comp XE262, headers, and I believe Eric has a stock 4bbl intake and 600 carter AFB he's putting on it (I had an airgap/600 eddie)
I used a MP166K converter, worked good for me, brake stalled ~2300, flashed to ~2800. I'd suggest the same. if you want to save some $$, there's 2 stock stall converters, a low stall, and a high stall. the low stall one stalls ~1400, the high stall one, which was typically behind 6's and HP V8's, stalls ~1800-2000 RPM, and is essentially the same as the MP 145K converter.

I run a stock high stall /6 one behind a 318 on my 360 I run the same thing but with a B&M 360 weighted flex plate flash stalls around 2800 rpms,IIRC results will vary with torque and HP input to the TC or you pay for what you get with a performance verter

I'm running a 318 converter behind my mild 360 with a B&M flexplate... not sure what the stall is, but my engine guy said it was a little higher than the stock 360. Was he right? Works okay for me but I don't race it.

does it snap your neck to the seat? good burnouts?
the convertor i have is a non lock up 318 convertor. is that fine for it?i also have the b and m flexplate
I have a stock 2.73 rear gear, it's silly tall... it DID great burnouts with the stock 14" wheels until I put the 15x10s on the rear. Now it will eat U-joints if I beat on it. With the mad max highway gearing it is a pig off the line, and takes a while to spool up into the torque curve and start pushing me back in the seat, but from 70 to 110 it hauls the bacon pretty good. I do a lot of road tripping and highway driving at 80-85 so I like it for what it is.
The 71-74 B-bodys are big, heavy cars. To get them out of the hole quickly takes a lot of torque and a steep rearend gear, something high like a high 3 or a 4.11 if you want crisp neck snapping, but your top end will suffer.
I fly low.

What kind of rear gear do you have in your road runner? As stated above, with a 2.7x gear, it'll be hard to snap your neck back!
I have a car that weighs well over 4000 lbs., and also have a 2.76 rear gear, and its a slug off the line.

I like running a q-jet on the spredbore performer intake the 3.91 gear will get it done result will vary though... engine may run out of steam before the gear duz or the gear may run out before the engine duz

under the shadetree,I get a mid 70s chivy q-jet from a 350 I then grind the end of the throttle shaft to remove the chivy throttle bracket.. then I get a throttle bracket from a mopar smog q-jet from the mid 80s tac weld the mopar throttle bracket on to the chivy q-jet.. this makes me a non emissions mopar q-jet worked very good for me on a performer intake and used stock mopar kickdown linkage for a q-jet same on my truck with a LD4B intake also, even though its a square bore intake,I used a 1/2" 4 hole spacer to mount it to the LD intake I grab up all q-jet I get from mopars just for the throttle levers, and look for the early to mid 70s q-jets.. for a stock 360 one from a 350 chevy is close on jetting for a stock 318 one from a 327 is close on jetting IMO,cheap to rebuild, easy to tune, good on gas,has some kick when stomped on

performer intake is dual pattern and will work with either a spead bore or square bore carb. your 600 carter will work fine on it

I'm pretty sure the stock 340 carb is rated nominally at 600 CFM. that's what I had on the engine before (eddie 1406) worked very good once I leaned the primaries and secondaries out a skoash. that 340 would probably be jetted very close to ideal for the engine. I'd probably spend the $30 on a rebuild kit and run it if it were me.
the eddie performer intake won't net you any performance improvement over the 340 intake. based on tests I've seen, you'll gain a few lb-ft of torque below 3000 RPM, but lose a few HP above 4500 vs. a stock intake. you will lighten the weight of the engine by ~ 30 lbs...
