Galen - The chart below is for 2.5" mufflers, but it will give you some idea on the volume in decibels and the flow.

Thanks Ron, this chart will help. The 40 series 2 chambers are noisy. I am adding an H-pipe but it looks like the Dynamax Ultra flow or Super turbos would be a vast improvement.

Put 3 inch mangnaflows 43041 40 series on the belvedere. With the 4000 stall, 4:30 gears and 263/270 at .050 it just screams getting out of the driveway and getting up to speed, At 3800+ It starts thinking about cleaning up. I like my neighbors and am hoping they will continue to like me. It is loud. cant even hear what my engine is doing. Help. Galen

In your old age did you forget to put the exhaust on?

Do you have full tailpipes? That would help if you don't.

Magnaflow makes some little can shaped resonators that will cut the drone out. Could be welded into tailpipes. Cost about the same as getting a new set of mufflers and should ensure you won't have a drone with a new set of regular mufflers.
