Out of the box...
Who has them? So far It looks like Muscle Motors. This is a stock 440 were are wanting to step up some power on, at this point I feel we dont need a fully ported CNC head with a 10:1 stock stroke 440.
Muscle Motors has the same prices maybe a hair better than direct from Indy (which I try to avoid) but there heads feature better hardware. Comp valve train (928 springs) and 10 deg stuff.

On another note, I met Sam Wilson (Indy sales man) this past weekend at Clay City, and he took care of my needs. Its nice to know they have a guy like him working for them now..
I picked up a few things from them, which included a duel Line swinging pickup setup, which one of the fittings was boogered up and need replaced. He didnt have any more on hand.
I received a email today from him that the parts are already in the mail, and will be here tomorrow.

Thanks Sam

Sam is certainly a great asset to Indy,he is usually my go to guy when I order my parts. His dedication and personality are #1 in my book.

I got mine from Dwayne, aka fast68plymouth for my 68' rr, although he took them OOTB and worked his magic on them and opened them up to MW size and cleaned them up a bit. Makes my 500" pump gas, full exhaust RR run a best of 10.47 @128 so far and hoping to improve on that in the last of the year wednesday nights coming up. He was great to work with.

Bob, I also got mine from Dwayne and he cleaned them up to make sure they were right as we all know that most of the Indy products may need a lil going over before being installed

My only comment on this subject is that it makes no sense to run Indy heads if you don't spend the extra $ to give them a better valve job, set the guide clearance, mill 'em for a true flat gasket surface, etc.

Get 'em from somebody who can do all that before you ever take 'em out of the box and you're ahead of the game in the long run, even if it's not the cheapest way to get into 'em.

Good Points Brad
I agree 100%
I guess I wasnt to clear on that in my question, but only mentioned better hardware upgrades etc. I have never run a head or block OOTB yet..
They have always come from the hands of competent people.

Modern Cylinder honestly has Ported and finished about every single head I have run in the last 6-8 years.
These head will not be a exception.

Sam Wilson is a great guy. I've heard ALL the Indy service stories. . . .Sam is honest and sincere. I hope Indy treats him accordingly.
