Well R5's done and in To the few of you who said It'll never be more than mock up, go take a long walk off a short cliff (and thanks for the motivation). The engine is in. It is a hooked to a hemi 4 speed. I'm still undecided on what blowproof to use. I can't seem to get the vapor lock out of the coolant system, my brother is bringing a tool from work to pull vacuum into the engine and hopefully fix that problem. Other than that everything works great. 40 psi at idle (1400) Here's some pics. The engine is running in the pics you can see steam coming off the catch can....

Try mounting the regulator in front of the carb. for best performance under acceleration, how about on the right side frame bar or on the frame itself down low anywhere 4 inches or in front of the back of the block flywheel area is NHRA requried. Did you protect the fuel line from the tank if it is inside the frame rail? If not(unless it is stainless covered hose) you will need to Is that 6Al coil hook to a 6AL box? If so let me know how that works on your motor, I'm assuming it will be ran above 8000 RPM Congratulations on finishing the project Even after some of the folks on here got under your skin You showed them the best way possble who you are and what you stand for

Cab, The line is Stainless 8AN all the way from the cell. The coil is a blaster 3. I had it here so I'll see how it works. I am using a 7AL-2 ignition. What do you mean protect the line from the tank? It will definitely see above 8000. Once The oil was up to 170* I opened the throttle a bit and it revd so fast it was unreal.. It hit the 7600 rev limiter before I even knew what happened. This is the engine with the 1567 bob weight you commented on

It's a nascar engine. 3.253 stroke, 4.185 bore. 358 CI... They are rated at around 840 hp with a 830 cfm carb. Yeah the coil wire will be fixed, it was just to fire it up.... Sorry Scott, I thought you had a B Body... We should be about the same then, except for the trans...

Yeah there were a few guys on here that were bashing me this spring, it really p!zzed me off.. But I'm over it now cause I proved them wrong
No reg on the firewall huh? Where is best? Since I have no inner fenders, options are a bit limited. I tried to read everything in the NHRA book about the fuel system, it is from 2007... Maybe a new rule?
Yeah I hope it runs... ScottB is getting close to low 9's last time I heard. He's a bit heavier in a B body. It'll see the track in spring and the ice drags this JAN
On the fuel regulator, you can buy some nice bolt on clamps for the front roll bar tubes. You can install them, they have 3/8 streaded holes on them to mount stuff to, maybee you can fab up something from those parts and pieces to make it work. We use them on the late model all the time, they are used from holding on lead weights, to mounting fuel line to the chassis.

Cab the bob weight comment was fine No worries. The guys I'm talking about were very negative and way out of line. Here is what the manual says on coils for the 7AL-2 COILS The MSD 7AL-2 Ignition can be used with most stock coils and aftermarket coils designed to replace the stock coils such as the Blaster line of coils. For short duration racing, like drag racing, the MSD Pro Power Coil, PN 8201, is recommended. For more information on recommended coils, consult the supplied Coil Application Chart or check with the manufacturer of your coil. If you have any questions concerning coils, contact our Customer Service Department at (915) 855-7123.
