other than the helmet what makes his 14 second car any less safe than my mid 11 second car that can run in super pro as per the nhra rules?
Picture a jet getting rear ended by an air-to-air missle... The fast car has safety rules.. cage, belts, suit, etc. The slow car has a bumper, frame rails, and nothing else. It's a rear end collision between a car going 92 and a car going 130+.
i fully understand the safty factor. i dont run in super pro, i race pro. my point was nhra has a class that lets a 7.50 car run against a car that doesnt have a bar. i wonder if people are worried about the driver of the 14 second cars safty as much as they are upset that he won in a box class with a 14 second car.

Agree there should be more brackets ( tighter ET range ) to cut down on speed differential. There used to be? If you have to back in to the water box ( my home track is that way ) it shouldn't be any more difficult for one lane over the other. My routine is average - speed wise. Not fast. Not slow. I always wait if I turn the the top bulb on first, but IMO, if I gotta weight more than 10 seconds, I can just about guarante the other guy is screwing off or doesn't have his act together - which is why the time out rule is a good thing. There aint no linkage between a rolling start an the flag man - just in case there are some people on this thread that never raced when there was a flag start - probably everone has though . If you have "deep" on your window I won't care. I only have one rule on my trailer - tire pressure to be @ 50psi. When I dive in to both bulbs I usually red light. Golf and Tennis are gentlemens sports. Drag racing is too loud, dirty, and smelly to be a gentlemans sport. I'm 64 and with many years of practice, know how to lose graciously - but I don't go over and shake the other guys hand. I just go home.

to all the people who double bulb there fellow racer you should kick yourself and go home immediatly. its not nice and you should sit there forever. dont be that guy. and you all know who you are
I have accidently done that to a couple of guy's, and immediately went and apoligized to them for my mistake and explained to them that it was not intentional, but some like to do that and while I don't like it myself I try and deal with it and over come it.
What I meant to say was I agreed with Dartman366. I've done it accidentally (at Martin C.C. 10.0) this year and apologized immediately after. Had it done to me at Norwalk C.C. in 10.0. Not sure if it was intentional or not. Still cut a better light but gave up race at stripe. Saw it done several times in 10.0 at Norwalk. I don't play that way but to each his own. Things like that just go in the memory bank.

Sheesh.. am I the only one here that hasnt double bulbed?? But then I've never gone red and my worst ever light is a .001..
never red, and youre worst light ever is a .001?
how often do you race?
.001 is the worst light youve EVER gotten, and you've never been red?
I believe he means that's the closest he has come to going red
I only went red once this season....unfortunately it was against Steve Furr 2nd round at Piedmont -006 to his 04? and Steve went on to win the class....if I'm gonna get taken out I'd rather it be by the Champ of that race

I don't care what anyone does. If they want to fly in there I will go in when I'm ready. Now that may be after 2 minutes when the starter waves me in, or I may go in right away. The thing about sportsmanship is not everyone practices it, or even shows interest in it. Me ... I'll shake your hand before first round and wish you luck. If I lose, after I load up I'll try to find you and again shake your hand and tell you to win it all. For me its karma. Unless your talking Rod Classes courtesy staging isn't enforced, and I wouldn't get upset about it it it doesn't happen. All you do is screw yourself up. Race your race, and if you think you were dissed show the other lane your sportsmanlike finger wave going thru the traps, hehehe.

HELLO im mr 14 second car here that was @ the NORWALK meet. #1. i do it on purpose, NOT AT ALL TO MESS WITH ANYBODY. but i DEEP STAGE my car, my routine is to roll up put both bulbs on and Sit there. when you put the top bulb on i start BUMPING IN for DEEP STAGE!!! you have all the time to do your thing. #2 yes it was BOX class i have NO DELAY BOX i was running FOOTBRAKE ONLY! #3 99% of BOX/NO BOX Races are Run with NO ET LIMIT. i love racing so i run as much as i can with me street machine. MOST OF ALL IMPORTANCE HERE!!! THE FACT THAT MY 98MPH car VERSUS YOUR 185MPH car means NOTHING IN BRACKET RACING NOTHING AT ALL!!! I SIGN A WAIVER FOR A REASON !!! you should not be upset to RACE ME. YOU shouldnt HIT ME thats all stay in your own LANE! if u do ya im its gonna be bad probably. thats our risk in racing. im sorry for those of you i pissed off. but thats racing. and let me add i had a HELL OF A TIME kicking ass on them fast cars!!! and for the DRAGSTER who DOUBLE BULBED ME!!! i didnt get deep that sucked and my car leaves so slow i CREAMED it and still it was late but you wwere WAY later!!! and as for your dialing 11.00 when you go 8's haha nice try you think im gonna take the stripe first !!! Deep Staging. Red of Dead.

HEY MAN listen MR JULIAN!!!. my grammas ride is aloud in there. THERE IS NO ET CUT IN BOX . NO I DO NOT HAVE A BOX IN THAT CAR IM FOOT BRAKE ONL. Cant judge me at top end huh? .000 i was .028 and dead on with a 4 i believe. i sent ya on your way just at the mph stripe. as you flew by. dont worry about hitting me. its my risk not yours. your save im not what do you have to worry about. NORWALK THIS WEEKEND 2nd-4th is NO BOX BANANZA ITS GOT 0.00-18.99 ET LIMIT I raced my SLANT SIX last year there had a dragster 3rd round he was dialed 7.64 i was dialed like 18.30. no helmet just a lap belt? Same deal there. its drag racing. ITS A RISK IN ITS OWN. my car is not a piece of JUNK so just dial your car right and you will have no issues. ive driven a 9 second ride and a 10 sec ride. i know SPEED is very dangerous. but this is the sport of drag racing. RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG. beat the other guy... and if your a 14 second car and took out a dragster YAAAA Baby! GO GET EM! i love how simple things like a SLOW CAR Like me getting some win lights in box class really turns up such a mess with folks.

I had a lot of people double bulb me at Norwalk CC and they got to enjoy sitting there on their converter for awhile while i took my time cleanin the car out and finally prestaging, then they got the thrill of watching my win light come on If your new to the sport I can see it happen a few times but if your a seasoned vet...theres no need to play games, unless you need to just to win. My 2 cents!

belts, fire jacket,35mph, and how bad would you feel if you were the guy that hit him and killed him.Even though it was his fault for no safety equipment it would be hard to live with it and my life is pretty important to my kids and me.
