you know, I guess there was a reason why they put holleys on the race hemi's, because they perform well. my preference is the TQ on a truck 440 so long as it is built right and has the right combination for it, otherwise anything will bog in the secondaries

I agree holley are great..... For chevy's! 8 years ago on my 77 trailduster I pulled that thermoquad and replaced it with a holley 750 double pumper and then a vac sec. they have their problems but then putting back on my thermoquad one year for smog I started tinkering with it and bought a book and have never looked back (to see those chevy's with holleys in the rear view)the bad thing about thermoquads is the rest of the world that being part such as jets & etc. dynotune are you on ebay as dynotune1? man everything I watch and want this guy buys! (he has a fatter wallet I guess) I love this site can't believe I only just found it.

could it be 9149s? if so, it is for a 78 440 with california emissions on it. other wise, I am not comming up with anything. what so you mean by heat choke?

Good evening;
equipted with round black housing on carb and connected to exhaust manifold by a 5/16 tube to transfer heat to the choke spring. I thought most Chryslers used the intake manifold type of setup with coil spring on intake manifold and a linkage to choke valve. This carb came off my 76 arrow with 360 and 904. was on it when i bought it and my first act was to replace it with a Holley. I know i never gave it a chance , but hotrod is spelled Holley
Old school thinking. Wish I had a nickle for all those I sold in the " Good old days " , 60's & 70's .Time marches on Darn it. seeya

Hey whats up fellows? I just signed up so I could join in on some of the chat here. I have been reading alone and listening for a while now. I have attached a pic of my 79 with a 78 440 in it.

I wanted to get in on some of the carb talk. I have a few cents to add, I have always found that if a guy wants a strong perorming carb to get a holley. If he wants the turn key and just drive get a carter, AFB that is. I have had a few of the t-q's on some big blocks and have always thought the dawhoop! when you hit it is pretty cool sounding. just sounds like you realy tapped into some real power!

Has any one ever tried a Demon Sizzler TQ.? I think that I am going to try one on my 440 step side. http://thermoquads.com/ Go here and tell me what you think. I got this link from a guy who is on a lil red express mialing list with me.
