In my case engine placement dictated what scoop I could use. Besides it sort of grew on me. What mopar scoop is at least 5" high all the way to the back of the hood? My motor is up about 3-4 " and back about 6". The back of the air cleaner is at the back of the hood.

Alot of those cowl hoods I don't like. Some I do though..
I think for me personally the only car I ever wanted to put a cowl hood on was a project I had planned, a 440 tunnel ram 2x4bbl Jensen Interceptor. Never built the Jensen, so that's where the cowl hood ideas stopped.
I've seen MoPars where the cowl hoods looked good, but I've seen more Mopars that looked BAD with cowl hoods...

Dale, Spot on! 340Shorty, Well at least those tunnelvision-scoopies help excavating the hot air under the hood I guess and releave the underhood pressure in the process if you have an unsealed hood. IMO the most 2" ones still look fairly ok, but anything over 3" is plain dorky. And, besides an airscoop facing rearward looks unlogical, I also THINK rearfacing scoops just don't work. When I take my own cars as an example, when I go driving just after it rained, the drops on the front/middle of the hood are all forced back by the wind, and when they're at the rear of the hood near the windscreen they all kinda lay there and just run of to the sides when taking a corner. By the way, what's the reasoning behind this NMCA-rule with scoops having to face the wrong way?
