What ignition system are you running? what's the cureve? and was the cam degreed in? If so what did it go in at? Not that heads wouldn't improve your combo... but all done at 5K? Think there's more holding it back then the 906's

MSD6AL with MSD distributor and coil, sorry bu don't remember curve or how the cam was degreed. Easy to check ignition curve (think total timing is around 38 degrees and that it reaches that at 2500 rpm) but a little more work to check cam timing. If I rember correctly it is set at zero.
Well, maybe I wasn't clear enough. I can rev it beyond 6k but you get the feeling that it isn't very happy after 5k. Like it gets out of breath.
I'm using a fresh 3 inch K&N filter with filter top, Hooker Super Comp headers coupled to 3" exhaust with Flowmaster 42's, no pipes after the mufflers.

My combo was very close to the OP's. The switch to Edelbrocks from my 452's dropped me from 12.5x's @ 105 to 12.0's @ 110, no other changes.

More converter got me another 0.15 and 2 mph, intake swap got me another 1.5mph but nothing as far as ET...

Are the 440source heads as good as Edelbrock? They cost less and has original casting meaning that headers and plug area is roomier

What size are you Hooker super comps? If they they are 1 7/8" they will not fit the angle plug heads. If they are 2" they will fit better but still close.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

They are 1 7/8". I guess you are talking about Eddies, if I get 440 Source everything would be as original?
