They just need to take it to Andy Granatelli's Tune Up Masters. I think a new cap and rotor should do it.

That's just a sad picture....
It's really too bad - it would have been cool to see it come out alive...

Yeah... so how's this for an idea:
Restore HALF the car, going lengthwise. Sure, it wouldn't run, but it would be pretty cool (I think) to have say, the driver's side completely restored while leaving the passenger's side as is -- interior, exterior, engine compartment, etc.
I'd enjoy seeing something like that.

Instead of restoring it and burying it again, I say leave it "as is". Trade it for a new car from chrysler and have the new car buried in a new vault.
What car? I got a great one...
No, really interesting, If a car guy gets it why not? It would be great if they had something else to "dig" up in the future. Heck put the SS prototype in a uhhh crypt (hopefully waterproof for sure" for the future.
I can see it now: After "blank" years we will reveal the Plymouth Prowler and a one of a kind one off Challenger concept. Why not?
The first new challenger to come off the assembly line
They said they would trade ANY new car

This may come as a suprise to you....
Well, I was there, so doncha think that counts for something? And others were there and agree with me.
This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about. Please don't pretend to know what I am thinking, and please try - TRY! - to see the bright side of this event instead of succumbing to the grumpiness that seems to be the nature of some people.

Yea, that would be cool, probably easiest to cut it right down the center with a big saw and restore the one half (likely the drivers side since that's where allot of asemetrical gear is located, steering wheel, etc.)

I see the Peanut Gallery is present.

The "tainted cuppa joe" is due to the guys here being CAR guys. Many wanted, wished, and hoped for a trophy to come out of that hole, despite all odds. Disappointment is the OBVIOUS reaction. Among the CAR guys.
That's not what I was talking about, but I appreciate the devotion to an elaborate response. Keep on truckin'!
Yeah, the "peanut gallery" is here.
I read what you were talking about, it was "Vietnam", "subsequent wars", "feminist manifestos", "America before she took that hit of LSD", you name it. Nothing of relevance, just spewing from a guy trying to be thought of as a writer of some sort, correct me if I'm wrong. Unless "Vietnam" has something to do with this thread in any way....
Read and try to understand OTHERS. Not insult and impose your opinions.
I don't find much of what you have written relevant, and what you wrote about personal experience I find highly hypocritical, considering your past posts.
This event was about THE PLYMOUTH for many around the world. Not the high school yearbooks, not the contents of a woman's purse, THE CAR. Many are disappointed because of the outcome, and many are "negative" because it was a negative outcome. Understandably so IMO.
