This is the most unorganized redneck production I've ever seen. There, I said it. You had this much freaking time to do something big and this is the result.
I have to admit, while I was there, I was thinking the same thing.

I don't know what everyone else has posted since there's too many posts to read, but it was like attending a large funeral. Not much left of the old girl. There were a lot of nice finned cars in the exhibit hall though. Once again, why was Boyd there.
Simple.. he was schlocking products..
Boyd Coddington Scheduled to Install AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants in Tulsarama Belvedere Thursday June 14, 2007 10:41:23 EDT
SUPERIOR, Wis., Jun 14, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Legendary hot rod builder Boyd Coddington will use AMSOIL synthetic lubricants and filters exclusively in his mission to revive a buried 1957 Plymouth Belvedere.
On June 15, 1957, the city of Tulsa, Okla. buried a new gold and white 1957 Plymouth Belvedere Sport Coupe in a time capsule in downtown Tulsa as part of Golden Jubilee Week, a celebration of Oklahoma's 50th year of statehood. On June 15, 2007, the car, along with other assorted historical artifacts, will be unearthed and transferred to the Tulsa Convention Center as part of Oklahoma's Tulsarama Centennial celebration. On hand will be legendary hot rod builder Boyd Coddington, host of the hit TV series American Hot Rod. Coddington and his crew will be responsible for getting the Belvedere running after spending 50 years buried in the underground vault. The process will be filmed for an episode of American Hot Rod, which will air on The Learning Channel later this fall.

I know people are freakin' because the car is sitting low in the back.
But... did anybody notice the back tires went flat again? The springs were not poking through the trunk floor, you can't see them when they are pulling stuff out of the trunk.
But yeah that kid is holding a piece of one of the rear springs... and the trunk lid is shot...
I hope they wash the dang thing now...

Boyd is there because there is an opportunity to make a lot of money. He is a real shady business man and he has done well for himself. He is a great promotor and a very smart guy... he's going to do a TV show and it will be a big hit... watch and see....
I'm kinda curious why all this "Boyd bashing" on this thread. I personally dont care for the guy, but, he was there cuz he was asked to be. He plugged his show cuz they asked him to, and he ended up taking the same position that the majority of us here did, which is to leave the car just like it is. What did he do that was so wrong? Did I miss something?
