You guys that are there take some pictures of the undercarriage, I still don't understand why the back sagged and not the front.
Rear of the springs are probably sitting up in the trunk, that would be my guess?
I'm not well versed in the 50's era cars, but they had REAL frames then didnt they? I wouldnt think the springs could get in the trunk on these cars like with a unibody car. My guess is that alot of mud and rust settled in the trunk and qrtrs and rear floorboards. That would add alot of weight I would think.

The car is not nearly as bad as you would think it would be for being under water for so long. I'm am sure some of you guys cars were in worse shape before you restored them! Some of you guys kill me with your comments though, You sound as this event should of been held exclusivly for CAR people!

I liked the show, much better than an antiseptic over-rehearsed wine and cheese event. And I was actually kind of surprised by Boyd, of all peoople I didn't figure on him being the one to say the car should stay exactly as is and not mess with it... and yeah he plugged his show but only after being prodded to by the hosts.
Now the big questions, is it restorable and if so should it be restored? I'm more partial to them just cleaning it up and then doing something to preserve whats left of it on display in a museum somewhere.

That would be up to the new owner, wouldn't it?

Hey i'm all for this. i think it's really cool in fact. The time capsule, the car it was a really good idea. I didn't expect the car to be in that good of condition actually. I think it's a really cool piece of history now. But, if you're going to do something like this at least get someone to M.C. it that has M.C.'d before and can speak to a very large audience, otherwise you'll look foolish. After all this is a big deal. And if you're going to bring someone to help, like Boyd, get someone that looks like they at least want to be there, not just there for the sake of good P.R. All in all though it think the whole thing was pretty neat. And for the record, i don't care where someone is from.
But existing is basically all I do.

I actually got to see the feed at home, so I want to say thanks to the TV station for getting their act together. The raising (from work) was jammed up. I did miss the first part, but even though the hosts weren't dry pros, it went okay. I've been to many car shows and drag races where the MCs have done a lot worse. I thought the capsule stuff got grabbed and hustled off quick, but a couple long shots showed long tables set up to hold everything. CHEERS to all Tulsans and Okies! This has been a great ride! My biggest hope is that they clean it carefully, and that whoever gets it displays it for all to see.
