Be pretty freaky if they open it up and the car is gone.

Be pretty freaky if they open it and it IS rotted, by the look of the video it just might still be pristine. Anyone else heard they are going to drop a Dodge Truck in the same hole for another 50 years?

Especially if the event is covered by Geraldo Rivera.

From the site SeanK posted: "Unearthing the Belvedere When: noon, June 15, 2007 Where: Denver Avenue and Seventh Street in Tulsa What: The 1957 Plymouth Belvedere will be brought up from the ground. It will then be loaded onto a trailer and transported into the Tulsa Convention Center arena. Limited viewing is available at the unearthing and is reserved for sponsors, dignitaries and alumna of the 1957 event. The Unearthing will be simulcast to Exhibit Hall A of the Tulsa Convention Center, 100 Civic Center on Seventh Street between Houston and Denver avenues, where admission will be free". Dang, so no 'live as it happened pictures' (from members)I guess? Still not sure if I'm going.

Has anyone gone thru and read the articles from '57 when the car was buried? This one in particular struck me funny; linky " A 1957 automobile was buried in the courthouse lawn today - with a bottle of tranquilizer pills in the glove compartment.......
......The tranquilizer pills got into the act when the committee decided to make the auto typical by stocking the glove compartment with the contents of a woman's handbag." What the heck was going on in '57 that required tranquilizers to be carried? Interesting stuff.

I'm thinking the only things that are going to survive are the glass and maybe the tires. With as much rain as has fallen on Tulsa in the past 50 years, I can't imagine anything being able to hold back that much water.
