What sucks is that I'm heading north this weekend and won't have any internet access and only local TV stations. SO unless they put it on the local news I won't get to see how it turned out until Sunday night.
Yews guts to getcha one of those in-tra-net celluar phone thingys.

While ordering us back he said the dump trucks are on the way and they need room. He said the liability was to much... That is just one of the things which has changed the past 50 years. I doubt if they are going to put a plaque which says a car was buried at this site in 1957 and removed in 2007... I think it is sad that ordinary people cannot even get a close look at the empty vault. I am sure the hole is filled by this time.
Talk about CYA,glad they took the car out first.
I know it only makes sense, but I can't help but feel the city may be a little red faced from the whole part about it being UNDER WATER

After it was lifted and loaded onto the trailer I bolted to see her paraded down the street. With helocopters above, horses, etc. it was a total blast walking beside her with the crowd for two blocks north, west about two blocks, back south and then seeing her backed into the convention center. It was so much fun!
Here is the question I'm sure a lot will be asking, did you get a chance to peek in the cover???
Enquiring minds want to know... from the video it looked like the pot metal tail light bezel was still intact - not all pitted or anything, and it looked like the rear valence was still all there (better than I expected, actually). The bumper looked like it had rusty peeling chrome...
So, did it look that way in person?? Better? Worse? Aaaaghh! I can't wait!!!

here is info on the prowler they burried, this time the capsule is made out of aluminum, its welded shut, and pressurized. I have a feeling this one will survive much better then the first.

Why did they feel they had to bury it?? Didn't they think of a mosaleum type thing
That wouldn't have been nearly as interesting IMO
If it's above ground, it may as well be in somebody's garage.

Well I think we all agree that protecting a car for 50 years makes sense. let's protect the car just in case, because in the event there is a nuclear war and we all die, we want to make sure Ms. Belvedere is protected.
Its like dying rich, YOU CANT TAKE IT WITH YOU!!!!!
This was poorly thought and executed, and I am bummed out that it appears as bad as it did.
I just find it funny that lady made a fuss like they were unearthing the ark of the convenant.

Besides the left rear view we have all seen since yesterday the only new thing was a gap in the plastic at the left front. While IMO the left rear looks pretty good the bumper at the left front had a lot more black/rust something on it. The chrome while dull all seemed intact. The paint looked scaly, however I did not see any of the cancer type rust bludges like typical rust. I am trying to catch back up with my friend who had the camera to get some of the pictures posted. Walking beside the car, running from one side of the street in front of her to get a look at the other side was the most fun I have had in a long time!
Belvedere leaving on the trailer Where you at it in this video 73cudaproject.
