Until I collect everything I need to do my Toyota R154 5 speed swap, yes.

No real pics to add today. Did a bunch of grinding in the engine bay and got it in primer, tomorrow I paint it.

I also spent a lot of the day cleaning and masking, painting things I am reusing with semi-gloss, etc.

Tomorrow the K-frame comes out and I receive my F/S kit.

Coming right along!

Be cool to see that magnum in place, and then you can find something with in a slant in it...so I can finally see that intake on something

Any more info on this transmission swap? The R154 is a Supra transmission, isn't it?

The R154 Supra trans bolts to the later Dodge truck manual bellhousings. It is a 5 speed used in the '87-'92 (MKIII Turbo) and the shifter is in roughly the right location.

I have seen a full bodied, full interior MKIII at Infineon do a lot of passes with 600+ horsepower, back-halved for a Ford 9" and slicks...Stock tranny.

Sandy in Nova Scotia has one in a Mopar IIRC and I saw it advertized as a swap in kit form in Oz. Most of the tech info I find on the swap is from Marlin Crawler's forum running one behind a 5.9 Magnum in a 2WD.

TTI's arrived this afternoon!

Once I got the old V=belt pulleys switched over (I am using an LA-style water pump)discovered that my old alternator with the stock brackets does not clear the Magnum head casting.

Since you are pulling the K frame, are you going to install the works from underneath?
I remember doing headers in my A engine A body

Affirmative on the car coming down on the K frame.

RTdude is bringing my carb over tomorrow after he gets off work. I am buying his old Demon since he decided his big block needed more carb.

And don't worry about using the alternator, they are just overrated anyways.

So I did some grinding.

And some priming.

My ceramic coated TTi's arrived on my doorstep.

I figured out my alternator bracketry and bent the old throttle bracket from 120* to 90* to go from LA to Magnum.

RTdude stopped by with the 750 Speed Demon he gave me a killer deal on!

Torque was a big help as always, and I could not have undertaken such a project without his help lending a paw.

"Regulators! Mount up!"

Still a lot of work to be done. I have yet to drop the K frame and am still waiting on my poly F/S bushings and new shocks. Feels great to be turning wrenches again and I cannot wait to terrorize small towns with her again!

And I am just realizing after today's carb purchase, My shirt might be a little outdated. Oh, the irony!

Cool '46 Dodge Coupe! Is the grinder motor a mock up of things to come?

Be sure to save the AC "delete" tape as well, someone doing an OE resto will pay big bucks for it.

Engine looks very nice.

Is this a 5.9 roller engine or an LA 360 with the magnum heads? Looks like an LA timing cover and water pump.

Might want to freshen up the trans or at least tighten the bands since it's about to see double the power it's used to.

It's a magnum with an early timing cover.

Never tinkered with a 5.9 before.

I didn't know the timing covers and water pumps were interchangable. Every time I have seen a 5.9 in an older car they have retained the serpentine belt setup so I thought that was your only choice.

If it's "your" engine then how come you aren't over there helping?
