Funny - I make comments that you use an ancient computer but my primary computer dates back to 1999/2000ish

Not for much longer - bought me a brand new spiffy shiny desktop computer that I will set up sunday hopefully. Going from 512MB system memory to 8GB and a 2 terabyte hard drive that stores up to 362,000 pictures - plenty of room for smitey smilies to dance around in

New computer is up and running

Love Firefox Sync, carried everything over. A few tweaks and my browser looks the same as I am used to.

Had to redownload some things, still have to reinstall my gif animation program and haven't tried my scanner yet.

Everything clicked right in - except my printer. I have an older canon model i recently rebuilt and its a great piece, would cost many hundreds to replace it. Seems canon doesn't offer a driver for it that works with Windows 8 (I was using XP all those years). So what to do when Canon USA doesn't offer a driver for your printer? Go find one on Canon Europe, download it, and print away.

Now if you ever try and print the word "Color" it will come out as Colour

Oh, and good luck every trying to print out something in miles per hour.. You are a kilometer printer now.


(I like my laptop running windows 7...my buddy from Oz bought a new one here with 8 last year, and I hated it. )
