The ship that the s had under ground, as it was taking off and the Prometheus crashes into...as it was hitting the ground, it finally hit me as being the ship the husband and wife find in Aliens.

Yes - same style, but not the same one. That was on the Hemi planet 
D'oh....good point !
I guess that is why the robot/synthetic human  , mentions about being more ships around....so I wonder if they one they take off in, is supposed to be the Aliens crashed one.
I thought some of the carvings/paintings in the giant-head room looked vaguely familiar too.

psssst... Some of us neither got to see Prometheus in the theatre, nor dashed out on the first day the DVD was available and bought it and watched it the same day. 
Down to just a blue car now.

Ohhhhhhhhh - you are referring to the ones known as "slackers"
(cough) Blueray that is....(cough)
And if "one" did not race out and do it right away, it would have to wait 4ish weeks until after the of loading was done, which starts on Thursday.

Just metaphorically, as close as humans come to making something like the face-eating Aliens
I thought the weapons they created were biological...like the black gooo itself that was oozing out of/around the cylinders. (that did look like missle sorta shells )
And what was the deal with the giant face...sort of full of themselves, weren't they?
Thinking of Mt. Rushmore....maybe I spoke too soon.
Will watch it again when I get a chance...see what else comes to mind.

Sort of a "prequel" to Alien.
Some members around here were posting what might be perceived as spoilers...
