My father in sept 1964 ordered 65 fury III wagon 383 magnum 4 speed, when I was 16 took my drivers test in it,the guy told me to put in high at 35 mph and I told him my father doesnt put in high in town and he told me to do it anyway,it had 273 rear and it bucked terrible almost dying and I said see what I mean,he never said another word and I passed with flying colors,my father worked midnight to eight and when I was 15 would push it out of garage and a block down the street and go street race it,finally was caught and beat severely but it made me mr 4 speed and don`t regret it a bit.yea I love them old mopars too, sorry so long but had to share.

Thanks . Did that guy with the "High Country Plymouth" car have a Cuda at one point? I think I have an old magazine artical on it. Superstockracer, how hard was it to make that pushbutton shifter work (and be precise/consistant?) Dad keeps telling me its too hard, but I think it would be cool to run the 64 with its original unit. BTW, i took that shifter to school today to educate people .

Kevin, it takes a little getting use to but just watch your shift light and its as consistent as a floor shifter. setting it up in the tranny and getting it aligned is a little more tricky than the floor mounted race shifters, i just take off my tranny pan and turn the adjuster till your dead on the nuetral switch with the detent lever. go through the gears with the buttons and keep checking that the nuetral switch is centered. thats it.
