Here's mine. (Sorry 383Man, for refering to it as a tank, I just wish it was considerably lighter)

My father in sept 1964 ordered 65 fury III wagon 383 magnum 4 speed, when I was 16 took my drivers test in it,the guy told me to put in high at 35 mph and I told him my father doesnt put in high in town and he told me to do it anyway,it had 273 rear and it bucked terrible almost dying and I said see what I mean,he never said another word and I passed with flying colors,my father worked midnight to eight and when I was 15 would push it out of garage and a block down the street and go street race it,finally was caught and beat severely but it made me mr 4 speed and don`t regret it a bit.yea I love them old mopars too, sorry so long but had to share.

Thanks . Did that guy with the "High Country Plymouth" car have a Cuda at one point? I think I have an old magazine artical on it.

Superstockracer, how hard was it to make that pushbutton shifter work (and be precise/consistant?) Dad keeps telling me its too hard, but I think it would be cool to run the 64 with its original unit. BTW, i took that shifter to school today to educate people .

Kevin, it takes a little getting use to but just watch your shift light and its as consistent as a floor shifter. setting it up in the tranny and getting it aligned is a little more tricky than the floor mounted race shifters, i just take off my tranny pan and turn the adjuster till your dead on the nuetral switch with the detent lever. go through the gears with the buttons and keep checking that the nuetral switch is centered. thats it.

High Country Plymouth was owned by
John Bandemiere (Bandemiere dragway's)
NHRA track in Colorado

I do believe, BUT someone will correct me
I'm sure

Thanks. Now comes the really hard part......talking dad into it. I've gone racing maybe 20 times since I got out of the junior, so I'm not really used to anything in the way of shifting anyway; getting used to it probably won't be much of a problem. I do like the way CRT switched his to the right side (mainly because I'm right handed.) Is there any way to run a pushbutton shifter on a late trans? BTW, nice 63. Yours and the one in the first post just have the right stance.

Ours was dark blue like the first car you posted and had commando v8 emblems and the stripes were the fury III extra with red white and blue.We had the american racing style grey spoked mags.It was a bad mamajamber.Took no prisoners. My dads best friend had a 64 with a four speed like rons sig pic and the same mags as our fathers. He had to have a factory rep come and look at our sure grip cause it was squealing the outside wheel on turns.Trust me seeing a factory 4 speed wagon had every body looking twice.I have had people call me a liar when I told about this car, used to be able to prove it till the junkyard that had it crushed it.Don`t even have any pictures of it or would show um.Love this sight and thanks for letting me share.
