I, of course, remember the cool, however improbable, surfing scene with Peter Fonda riding the tsunami.
That made me want to jab my eyes with a fork, so there was no chance of seeing it again
Her on the other hand..

So, "LA" was even cheesier than "NY". I agree. I would watch "LA" if it were on, but "NY" is classic Snake.

But it needs to be remade.

I would click past the LA one if it was on.. Just seems annoying to watch Which is too bad...it probably "could" have been cool at least (if they did it completely different ) Hope they don't decide to remake the NY version again.. The lack of CG and over the top special effects is what made it have alot more of a real feel I think. (along with the actors themselves as well!)

As far as the idea of Timothy Olyphant as the new Snake Plissken, this is what Eisner said..
he would be great for it. We have not yet discussed internally within the studio who will play Snake Plissken. There are many factors that go into those discussions. First and foremost, obviously, is the creative one. We can’t make the movie unless we get the perfect Snake Plissken, and that’s a tall order. There are very few guys that could do it. He would definitely be one of the guys who could. There is no question about that.
I don’t have a problem with Timothy Olyphant as the new Snake Plissken.. Those of us who’ve seen the series Deadwood and Justified would know that Timothy can play a badass, as a matter of fact, he does it real well. He just needs to bulk up and grow his hair down a bit because Snake’s image or persona still has to be present.

They should at least change the title for those of us ardent enthusiasts....
Why not just make another seperate movie out of it...no need to "copy" (or worsen as in the 2nd one) the original..

I tend to disagree...

Yep...different quality. Just like I couldn't see him as Kurt in The Thing at all either.... or even as him in BTILC. And again..over the top computer effects (as I am sure it will have) was not really what the movie needed then...ditto for lots of stuff. I think Aliens holds up to any current movie out there for what it is. (it had alot of effects for it's day compared to Escape, but it was done just right I think...same for NY)
