Chiller's description does not match, it's actually Dawn of the Dead (the one with Ving Rhames)...just starting still, so what the heck.

Yep, in the mall...Ving Rhames is the cop...another couple people have guns, plus some mall cops there with guns too. One dude has a girl who gives birth to a bouncing baby Zombie later in the movie from memory too 
Oh, and plus the cool roof top chess game with the guy at the gun store (the best place to be   )

Oh, that is the 2004 remake. I was thinking of the 1978 original when I referred to the Thompson machine gun.
