Oddly enough, I did used to play the French horn like that MASH character, although I could actually play it... and some of my classmates at my (military) medical school did in fact nickname me "Winchester"

Although I was even selected for major, I got thrown out of the USAF (on an honorable medical discharge) for failure to maintain weight standards too many times, before I could pin it on.
