I wonder if the Pickle Duster was somehow involved in this.. Cucumber truck hits buffalo near jumping crocsBy Iskhandar Razak Posted 4 hours 9 minutes ago Updated 3 hours 0 minutes ago The Arnhem Highway had to be temporarily closed overnight after a truck hit a buffalo and spilled a load of cucumbers near a popular Northern Territory tourist site. The truck driver was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with chest injuries. He has since been released from hospital. Duty Superintendent John Emeny says the accident happened near the Adelaide River bridge, south of Darwin, which is an area frequented by tourists keen to see crocodiles leap out of the water. "Shortly before midnight, a 22-tonne, heavy rigid freight truck carrying a load of cucumbers struck a buffalo and rolled on the Arnhem Highway in the vicinity of the Adelaide River jumping crocodile tour site," he said. "The truck came to rest on its side against electrical power poles after spilling its load of cucumbers onto the highway. "Police crash investigators along with MVR inspectors have inspected the scene and the highway is now open."

Orphaned gnomes sent to foster homesPosted 4 hours 18 minutes ago Updated 4 hours 8 minutes ago About 1,500 garden gnomes have been saved from the scrapheap. The collection of small cement people was left behind after the death of an elderly Cootamundra woman, with the new owners of her property not keen on keeping them hanging around. But a solicitor acting for the deceased estate in southern NSW contacted the Australian Gnome Convention seeking advice on how to dispose of the garden ornaments. The convention, established by the Lower Blue Mountains Rotary Club, is held annually in Glenbrook, west of Sydney, and has become the spiritual home for Australia's gnomes. Convention organiser and "gnome master" David Cook said he did not hesitate in organising a rescue party. "We didn't want to see them put in a skip and taken to the tip and all smashed up," Mr Cook said. The four-member rescue team joined with Cootamundra locals, working for almost four hours to load "every square inch" of two vehicles and a trailer. The gnomes will be fostered out to various locations across the Blue Mountains but will be reunited next Australia Day for the sixth annual Australian Gnome Convention.

Battling Zombie hoards is something unavoidable, but it's really not all that bad.
