I would try to verify if the cam is a swap set up or a standard firing order cam. Although that would not really account for the plugs, but I am also a bit curious with two that seem to be ok...Does not make sense to me. I would think if it were a carb issue all the plugs would look the same, so I would imagine it is safe to say that is not the issue.
Yeah that was really weird to me to. The more I go into everything the more it sounds like an electrical issue or possibly the firing issue you speak of. To be honest I really didn't know that they made cams that had alternate firing orders. I don't know that I got a cam card with the motor when I bought it but Muscle Motors built the motor and I can probably find out about that from Mike.

I'll have to check into the cam specs, don't know on that. No I didn't hang a timing light on it to check to see if it is retarding as rpm builds. I have a 7531 box in my other car. Does anyone know if I can swap them out just for testing purposes? I know it has way more wiring but I am thinking that maybe the plugs are the same but the 7531 just has a couple extra ones??
should be an easy swap but you'll need to hook up a programmer to check all the rev limits. I would only hook up the wires necessary to fire the car, coil, crank trigger, main power and maybe two step if you want to check it. You do know the 7531 is illegal for bracket racing don't you?

The 7531 is in my true ten five heads up car not a bracket car. I'm thinking ur right on the hookup though. I will try that tonight. The whole thing about the 7531 being illegal in a bracket car is why I don't have one of them in this car in the first place. I thought the 7520 would be the next best thing but maybe not!
