my 63 plymouth is coming home in a few hours from arc's shop . he just installed my ladder bars and we got the back to sit nice and low. the car has always run 29 x 10.5W x15 hoosier slicks with no rubbing issues at all. now that the car has ladder bars, it looks like all ill be able to get in the stock quarter panels with no mini tubs is a 30 x 10.5 x 15 slick. the hoosiers have been wearing out way too fast and i havent run a goodyear yellow letter slick before and i was wondering if they are any better than a M/T or Hoosier. do they last or wear out fast like the Hoosiers. M/T last but was looking to try a Goodyear with the new suspension. can anyone that runs them tell me why they run them over the other brands?

because they work the best, period.
they cost more and may not last as long, but did I say they work the best
Your results may very as every car combo is different. My digger loves Goodyear and so does my doorcar. But, they are BIG bologna's, 34.5x17x16, smaller tires are a different beast all together.

i have goodyears in my 65 and they have lasted longer than the M/T's by far and seem to have better handling manners. Also hook really well

I used to run M/T's but switched to Phoenix. 29.5W tire. Much longer life.

I have a bracket car and want the best bang for my buck. My M/T's sidewalls would go away long before the wear holes. The Phoenix I have now were two years old in June, half of the wear holes are completely gone and they still hook. Trying to make the summer on them. This is a W tire with tubes, no sidewall or stability issues.

thanks for all the replys, i am going to buy a set of goodyear 30 x 10.5 x 15 tomorrow. hoosiers i feel are a cheap tire that goes away after about 40 passes. i do like the M/T's on my 65 dodge and 65 hemi but i am going to try the goodyears and if they work as good as you guys say they do, im switching over on all my cars. i used the old style goodyear eagles with the white letters years ago and i liked them before.

Well Goodyear works very well for me and my tank beats up the sidewalls pretty good.
