No opinion on muff selection but I would include large dia mandrel bent pipes, an X pipe and resonators of some sort in the tailpipes by the leaf springs

For the 440 in my Jensen I went with Flowmaster 50s AND Dynomax Bullets. I use the Dynomaxs as resonators....

I don't care about flow i want a good sound out the exhaust with little sound in the cab. And a good sound at idol.
Go with the magnaflow you won't regret it. I installed them after I ditched my flowmasters. Nice and quiet (compared to flowmasters) in the car when crusing. When you nail it they sure wake up.
I had a couple in car videos on putfile but they shut down. I need to find them again and find a new host.

Stay away from Flowmasters if you don't like the interior drone.

There are some good articles on this subject on the web. Vizards article is popular, although hard to follow at times. Anyway, its pretty well established of the 3 types of mufflers (chambered, turbo, stright through), that the straight through muffs are the only ones that flow as much or close to an open pipe. I also think people typically over pipe their systems, which make unecessary noise. Remember, 2.5" is good for 500hp. How many have less than that and run 3"?

Dynomax Super Hemi Turbos. I have them on my Barracuda. Nice tone at idle/cruise, quite audible at WOT. Its nice to hear that quad roaring at 7,000rpm!

I want a "quieter" ride than usual...
me too and everyone says that resonators at the end by the leafs makes a world of difference.
I have a warmed over 360 in my motorhome, .485" lift hydraulic roller, ported 2.02s, 1 3/4" headers, M1 intake etc... I have the headers feeding a Y pipe, and what is basically two 3" Flowmaster 50 series in tandem in a single exhaust. I absolutely LOVE it.
I've heard cars with glasspacks for resonators behind a regular exhaust with mufflers, it sounded GOOD. I couldn't believe it myself. I'll try it, if it doesn't sound any good I'll swap it out, but I think it should be decent from many cars I have already heard...
