Don Bales old car. I knew it was for sale earlier. Don owns the beautiful "Silver Bullit" 68 built by Mike Roth. I think Mike did this car also. If he did it is FIRST CLASS!!!!

The owner said it was built by the guy that built the Silver Bullit...
It's an amazing car, attention to detail was everywhere....The guy that bought it has never been down the 1/4....Looks like a pretty steep learning curve.

I doubt if the new owner will ever race it, it looks like it's gonna be a show car.
At yesterday's All Mopar show it won:
Best paint Best Engine Best Race Car and Best of show.
What did it run?

Nice car to bad the new owner is not going to race it, afterall that is what it was built for.

I can't say he won't for certain, but he's never been down the 1/4 in a car, said he raced bikes. Seems like a steep learning curve. I hope he does race it, I'd like to see it run...I told him I'd be happy to drive it...All the way home.

Yep that's my "SINISTER" HEMI Barracuda, a terrific person by the name of Bruce Takala out of Los Alamos New Mexico purchased/picked it up at my shop in Connersville Indiana last Wednesday; Bruce made it home to Los Alamos New Mexico early Friday morning and had it at a car show on Saturday. WOW! Not wasting anytime huh? Bruce tells me he in fact does plan of racing it in New Mexico this summer (just an FYI the track elevation Bruce races at is 7000 Foot D.A.) I owned that car for almost 20 years, bought it after 7 years in the ARMY in 1991 for $1300 as a rust bucket-318 c.i. grease bomb under the hood all stock piece of crap. I turned it into decent street car (thought I was way cool LOL), then I went with Pro-Street design (thought I was even cooler)...then in late 2005 and early 2006 I let Mike Roth at MR2 Performance get his hands on it and he did a masterful job of redoing/rebuilding/crafting the current configuation it is today, what you see in the photos. It was bitter sweet to let it go to say the least...but I have another pretty cool SS/AH in the garage waiting. I wouldn't take a million dollars for the memories that car provided.

Bruce is a very nice guy, and proud as can be of his new car, it rained off and on during the show and I thought he was going to have a heart attack.
The DA here can be over 8000', 6300 is the best I've ever seen. It's depressing till you hit the trck and realize everyone is in the same boat...I've learned not to compare my times with anayone outside of ALb.
Our track is closing after this year and nothing new planned, so he'll probably be racing in Colorado/Vegas & AZ. Maybe Roswell, NM.
It's a beautiful car, I'm sure it hurt to see it go, but it's good hands...He loves it.
If he does hit the track later this yer, I'll be sure take pics/vids.

Good to hear he is plpanning on run ning the thing. Would be a shame to see it relegated to show poodle status. Although I am sure it is way more than capable of ruling that domain as well,at least if it is even 1/4 the car the Silver Bullet car is.

Beauty car for sure. Are those the stock size wheel openings ? The front looks longer. Looks like a bigger tire and I love the way it fits in there. Someday , Mike, I'd love for you to put a mile of welding rod onto a 71 Plymouth for me. Gotta find a donor and a leprechaun for his pot..

Ok, I found you guys. Thanks for the kind words, Don. Thanks Mike Roth for building my dream car.
Steep learning curve. No kidding. I do not even know what I do not know. I will have a ball learning though. It will be on the track, but not as soon as I would like. Remember I am starting from scratch. I ordered the 16V battery charger the day I got back and it is not even here yet.
And then there is my day job.
I apologize in advance for my dumb questions.
Bruce, there are no dumb questions(except the ones that don't get ask), just dumb answers sometimes Welcome to the forum
