Trans brakes are on the violent side, I have switched my car to be able to two step with the brakes. Westcott also uses a two step off the brakes, I have the same set up as him on my car. Jake

I have my Fairlane's two step wired the same. I actually tapped into the brake lights to activate it. Jake, was your car formerly owned by the Crosswhite brothers? I think it is one of the best looking SS/AH cars out there. Do you have any photos of it you could post? Are you making any changes for the up coming season?

Thanks!!

Thanks, I'll try to post something. I am only going to make some small changes this year to my old baton motor. Things have been real slow at the shop for acouple of years now so i put the new motor project on hold for awhile. I have the block work done and heads and intake and some other parts, but I need hole bunch more.I am only going to 2 events this year Norwalk, Indy. I will be driving a n/ss car for a friend of mine in a few nsca races and a few chrysler classic events. Oh and yes that is crosswhites old car.

i talk to don every now and then. i thought he was working with mike smith,, but i odnt know now.. he was aquiring parts to build a car but i think he aborted that plan as well. i think when his health went down a few years back, probably from too much work and no rest,, i think his business suffered and money for him ahsnt gotten back to where it was before. don is a hard working guy and he knows how to get a car down the track,, i know he has his personality issues,, which we all do,, but when i was noone going to races and talked to guys about hemi cars,, don would always talk to me,, noone else really ever did.

anyone going down to belle rose at no problem raceway to see the hemi shootout? i think im going,, though dont really know yet.

jeff

Jeff,

We are leaving Wed night to drive to Belle Rose. Not sure if the show will be as good this year with several hitter teams not going but it should still be fun. Did not get a chance to talk to you at the Dutch but did get to spend some time with Doug Sunday morning.
Hope to see you there.
Steve

I'll be there with my blue '73 Duster in stock. Jeff, I'll see you there as I need to talk to Daniel anyways. Please don't forget the 283 SS stuff.

With the WCH team and Bucky not showing up, that will pretty much give it to CW unless Pancake can stop him. The shootouts are getting kind of boring for me. I don't have the time or the money to go anyway as I'm expecting the delovery of my HAAS TM-1 mill about that time. I was going to go the Bridgeport route, but figured the CNC capability would be a big plus in making parts for the race cars.

There are quite a few AH cars down here in Belle Rose at the Sportsnats. I haven't had time to go around to their designated pit areas, but have seen quite a few driving around the pits and on the scales. I noticed the Howes' cars, Barton, Caro, the Wescott's, Heli-Hemi, Pancake, and a few more that I didn't recognize. I'm sure that a few more will show up today. The qualifying sheets will be on dragracecentral later on today.

The temp here around 9am was about 69 degrees, at noon was 82 and around 3pm was around 85. Not terrible, but definitely getting hot. The track is also a little tricky too when the temps start climbing; seems very "greasy". I did catch up with Jeff(Modern) today and talked a bit.
I was able to watch most of the AH cars go down the track today. Some new cars to the group showed up to the shootout. Larry Woo layed down an impressive run; if I remember correctly an 8.67. He has a nice car and sounds very good. Mark Howes' dart is immaculate and leaves very well. His dad had problems of some sort today but I think they have it fixed. They brought all three of their Hemi cars down from Canada. Gary Moore is there from Texas with a stick Cuda. This is the first time I've seen this car. Henson made a good clean pass, an 8.62 if I remember correctly. Charlie made a nice pass first round but spun terribly in the second round. Pancake broke and is out of the race. It should be a good race to watch tommorow.
I'll try to update tomorrow, but I have to say, it just ain't the same without the WCH team and Bucky not being there. There were some upset people sitting next to me in the stands when all the Hemi cars ran and they found out the WCH team and "The King" as they said, weren't there. Made me laugh! They are right though. It's kinda like watching prostock and no WJ. You know, he's been there forever and still used as a measuring stick. Oh well, maybe next year. And from what I'm hearing there will be some new cars out next year, maybe at the end of this year. Good luck to everyone. Gotta get up early to try to get my junk ready to run class tomorrow.

Hello Everyone~
I bet you thought I had moved on from this site. Nothing doing! Work is real busy this time of year and I use Sunday's to catch up, relax and drink sweet tea. "Nothing like sweet tea from my sweet pea," is what Ricky used to say. How about that race in Belle Rose, what was the outcome. I haven't heard. I will check back later.
Thanks Guys,
Stella~

Charlie beat Daniels for the Gold. Charlie had his best run of the event at 8.59. Daniels was a no show. I guess he had some elect. problems

Jake~

WOW! Thanks, I met Charlie and his Dad they are so nice, it is great to see them do well, they were testing in NC when I met them. I wear my tee shirt all the time, it is a wardrobe favorite. If I am ever in Michigan I am going to visit their shop. I noticed that your sign off says Jake's Automotive, do you sell cars, fix them, or even race? I don't believe we have met.

Stella~
