Thanks to all the advice and PM's
We decided on going with the cast world block from Ray Barton. The 2 big reasons for this choice was time, it's already shipped and cost 2600 rather than 6000+ for Indy or 5000 for the Keith Black which was 12 weeks away.
Bob @ Barton's it going to help me chose another Camshaft and or change the rockers to 1.6 from the 1.5 harlin Sharpe.
The rocker shafts on the engine now are bent along with the mounting studs. Barton sells a better deal so he says? I haven't seen them but he describes them as being individually mounted to a plate which bolts to the head. I feel getting away from the one shaft which holds all of the rockers will be a good thing for several reasons.
The old Mopar 500 block is out of the car and now I can see the crack in the number one hole on the thrust side running up and down to the cylinder.
It's huge over 2 inches long.
I may now see why I could only get 5 inches of vacuum from the pump. Cylinder leaks from the walls bulging
It's such a shame that block wasn't tested before it was bored to 4.5
I would guess its just so much scrap metal now?

Could you just sleeve the hole with the crack in it?

we're going to look into that but it doesn't sound to promising
once the block it bored so far over sized there may not be enough material for the sleeves hold onto..
These are the words from my machinist {not the one who bored the block with out first sonic testing it}

The block will need the pistons fit.
other than that Ray said its ready to go.
I will know more about this once the new block arrives next week and taken to the machine shop.
I'll keep you all posted on the progress.
you can give Ray Barton a call and ask if he has another one. We did not go with the race block.. we didn't want to replace our new Jessel timing set.
block part # P5153863-W plus freight of course.

I would have liked to go with the race block but the owner decided on this one.
when we build the 63 Dart we may go with the race or aluminum block.

There is a guy in Springfield that might have a complete 596 B1 PSO motor for sale in a mega block. PM me if interested.
