WOW! That is what I thought, I watch this, well the old thread all the time but have never posted. Just found the new one and have been reading, thought I would go for it and make a post. CW, as you folk call him, must be a real talented man to have everyone in such an uproar. Fred Henson's run was certainly impressive. I would say credit is due to CW (as well as Fred for managing that kind of power.)
Thanks, Jake!

Hey Stella welcome to Moparts, and yes this and the old thread on the SS/AH cars is some great reading. And Charlie is definately showing the way on horsepower performance and getting it hooked up right now, good for him. That will surely make the other engine masters like Harry Holton, Ray Barton and Jeff try out of the box things to catch up. All in all makes for progress on these cars. I wonder if someone would of asked these same guys 15 years ago would they ever think they be seeing this type of performance from these cars.

Thanks for the welcome, Jesse! I do think that there is some good material here, I also think that the men who actually drive the cars and build the engines deserve alittle more respect then what they often times get. To answer your question or thought about what these men would have thought about this kind of performance 15 years ago I can't imagine they would have thought it possible but it seems that a rare few are achieving it and that is really amazing to see. It takes alot of time and energy I am sure, not to mention smarts! Simply incredible, these powerful machines. ~Stella

CW I hope you are going to post your times for this weekend. I never bought a shirt because there is no picture of the car on it.

Well, like I said in my earlier post, Jim Pancake is the current record holder with an 8.55 155.87. He set it about a year ago at Atco.

From what I saw today - and I did not see all the SS/AH cars run -- Charlie has them covered.

Wow! Your tone has really changed from your previous posts regarding CW! I guess there is no more denying it HE IS SO THE MAN! That mph pick up was incredible! It has to be the new package that he is sporting on that machine, heads, manifold the works. I saw the picture of it here on moparts a while back, a beautiful piece and obviously very strong in the running. Does anyone know for sure who ports his new heads? I think I remember reading somewhere on this thread that he does his own? Also, does anyone know what all that stuff costs? Just curious. ~ Stella
