Millennium hemi head should be possible, they can flow 550cfm, and have a smaller chamber than the average Hemi head. Use on of those 4.6 bore CG blocks, and a long arm. Money is a factor, but at this level and HP goal, who says its going to be cheap.
If a Wedge would be desired, than look at the Predator heads, or PSO. All the B1MC is a Orginal head with the exh valve moved over .050-.060 to fit the larger 2.4 valve...

Indy 440-1's ( not an exotic head at all)
Dominator 9375 OUT OF THE BOX, no trick anything
Plate and fogger nitrous
Proparts 2" headers with mufflers
3.70 rear gears
3500lb car with 295 drag radials
best mph of 160...you tell me what its making
Iam reading the responses here and isnt this what you want?No responses to this only 30K motors that are hardly in 3500lbs cars that are stock. The heads some are talking about cost as much as this motor.Eddie's car with the 530ci 440-1 and single carb went 8.24 with alot less weight The predator 2-carb tunnel fogger everything new and bigger, did bring a 7 but I have only seen it go 8.20.This is the guy I would PM for speed.Build two motors for the same price of one of the others.

The best/least spent way in a mope is inches and a bottle.
Darren, how much more could you squeeze out of your Hemi if high maintenance wasn't an issue?

Nitrous is the great equalizer. if you want to build a nitrouos set up to make 1200ish with a single 4 the world is open to all sorts of possibilities. Just build the engine to handle the anticipated power level and you are there. Plenty of cars out there that can run real hard on the bottle, does the name Andy mayes ring a bell? he did it with Indy and now has a B1 deal, heck a small block on the bottle will get you there with less weight...

30k?!?!? WOW i certainly dont have that in my engine... I do have some money in it, but not that much for sure..... 3500lb street car...as fast or faster than a lot of "race" cars out there,
i dont see a shifter.
do you shift that thing with the column shifter ?
Is so = you win

Tim, there's more in my junk, but going for more would make it more trouble to live with than I want. Here's a single 4 640 CI ford, that we do. I wish there was a Mopar head to do this with, but there just isn't right now, and not enough bore space either so it is what it is. Budget not being an issue sure I can do 1200 with a single 4 mope, but get ready to spend.

What Ford head are you doing that with? The Thor head? What kind of flow do you need to say it would be "easy" to make 1200hp with a single ? 540-560cfm????

Scott koffel built my buddy a 511 cid B1 single dom, the motor made 965 at 7400 and over 700ft lbs on the dyno! But anything that makes big power is going to be some coin, thiers just no cheap way to do it! So now you could spray it with a 300 shot and you got your 1200.

It is a Thor head. we/engine systems did the port development for blue thunder on the thors. The peak flow can be over 600 cfm, but at that the mids are weak. The best power comes from the program we have that peaks at 565, and the mids are huge. The (as cast) ones BT sells is from a casting made from our 565 cfm program. Some of our pulling guys have to run a single 4.
I have never had my hands on a set of Thors but a guy I race with has them on his ride. I'm pretty sure its about 540ci cast manifold, single dominator, 2 foggers, ladder bars, 28x10.5, 3200 lbs. I have seen him go 4.88 @ 150mph They will for sure make the power, here is a vid of the car.

The koffels are the nicest people in racing that I ever met.me and buddy drove to the ohio shop from LI and he showed us around the whole place and then sat in his office for an hour bullshittin. If I ever build a big block he,s got my business. 13k for a 1000hp 561 is a sweet deal. Good luck.

But like you said with no block, there is no head. I love mopes, but 1200 single 4 combos NA are going to cost a chunk, to say nothing of reaching what a Thor headed Ford can do in very short order with way less effort.
I still say like others have, build a tough motor and spray it. It'll last longer and make better TQ, and be faster for less effort and money.

Scott Koffel has just recently built a T/S headed engine that has some mind boggling numbers. Try 3hp per ci. The owner of this engine is supposed to post his numbers, but as of now, still hasn't. I know Scott would like to share this, but is letting the customer post it. Anyway.... Stay Tuned... Chris..
