Didnt Andy F gain 90+ HP switching out the OEM cross ram, for the Indy single four? Im pretty sure he did, I can bet that the Bath tub intake is just as good or better than the single four piece. Anyways Looks good Chris

I'll be interested in the difference between the oe crossram and the indy intake. Everyone says 3 tenth's and Andy F. dyno comparo said 100hp. I struggled long and hard to get my motor to run with the oe intake. Keep us informed on the results.
A couple of years back when I had my 64 I ran with the oe cross ram and in the heat the best I could get to was a 10.10 and in the best air possible at Norwalk I did get it to run a 9.99. I installed the Indy intake and the first run off the trailer netted me a 9.80 in the heat!! I never tried to get it to go quicker because I was running on the 10.0 index and I worked on slowing it down every where I went. It was an easy .3 pickup and could have been more. However I did blow the tops off of 2 intakes and did have BG add on some blow off's. The 2nd time it happened was not on start up but while driving through the pits

I just took a look at Mancini's store but didn't see anything close to stock looking and would clear ok.. I guess I'll just get the fabbed covers and hope they clear my crossram.
MAS RACING also sells the same ones. you can find them in mopar collectors guide.

That Indy looks awesome. Like a modern day Rat Roaster for wedges.
,,,,,,,,,BUT,,,,,,,,I like the oe look on that car
Me too as the oe intake is just so cool. But its your car and we know this intake is faster. Ron

These intakes are quite reliable when carbs and starting methods are correct. When Russ had his issues I told him to look for a carb problem,I believe he found one that was bleeding over.Once you have one or two blow-up you get shy and install the sneezer valves.I have seen guys play with the carbs and pump raw gas into the intake and blow them apart on fire up. A good rule of thumb is a couple of good pumps of the throttle and hold the plates 1/3 open or better when firing up a cold engine. The sneezers(blow-offs) are extra insurance

I'm surprised it fit under the stock hood/scoop.
How close are the carbs to the hood now?

The front carb airhorn just sticks above the hood,so a stock type scoop works. I have seen from DVW.s 55 horse to a little over 100. When we built Jim Wipples 500 incher with a stock intake it would only go 10.20- 10.30's. When I put on the indy it would go 9.80-9.90's. and picked up about 8-10 mph. By the way Jim's health is restricking him from racing anymore and his 62 Dodge is for sale. Jake

Just put on on our 67 Plymouth(in line) and have 1/2" from top of scoop to airhorn on the front carb,a lot more on the back carb.Jake, give my best thoughts to Jim,a great guy.

i hoping to see those results, car feels real good, but the oe crossram was a smooth idle and had great throttle response. im wondering if timing will be the same or would a bump up in timing help this large intake. im at 35 degrees now.
