Question for all you Mopar restorers..I have 1969 SuperBee,factory black car with white strip over trunk and rear quarters. My build sheet says it came with factory GREEN interior, bench seat,4 speed. When I get done with it I am going to sell it.My question is would it hurt the value of the car if I changed the interior color to black or even white.Would this be more appealing to future buyer..Let me know what you think...Thanks

Can you verify that it came in these colors? In other words, are you sure the car is factory black or that the interior is factory green?
If so, it's a very unique color combination.
The question is, will it look good?
I would restore it to the original color combo.
Keep in mind, if someone (future buyer) wanted to change it, they would have a lot of work ahead of them - dash/headliner/seats/carpet/door panels/interior metal/ etc etc.

Yes, I had Galen Govier decode the build sheet.

Not the best combo 4 sure, but it's very different and I like different
I would keep it green.

not the greatest color combo but I would leave it green let the future buyer change it because they will knock dollars off the sale price because it's not correct . There weren't alot of factory black cars , especially with that color interior

Mine is black with black buckets and stripe delete ...

Very interesting color combo., but not very appealing to me anyway. If I owned it i would probably change it. I think keeping it green limits you potential buyers big time.

I'd say if it isn't a Hemi car or an A12, then change the color. For most guys the green interior is going to be a BIG deterrent.

With that in mind and you were looking to buy would you make a counter offer based on it not having the CORRECT interior even though in the back of your mind you'd look at it as a PLUS because the seller was saving you the time and $$ because you would change it anyway ???

Good question! I most likely would, but the interior change is a lot of work and $ so the discount would have to be pretty good

That makes little sense , here you are telling the guy to change the interior color to open up the car to more buyers BUT you would LOWBALL the seller for DOING what MAY the car more saleable and in the end save you/someone else alot of money because you/someone else would end up changing it ????

Actually I would most likely pass on the car, because I'm a bit of a purist. I love colored interior and would not deviate from the tag, but I don't think that I would like the color combo as cool as it is. So I would use it against him yes, but I would most likely not persue that car.

I can't believe that I'm saying this; but in this case I think you'd be farther ahead changing it to a black or even white interior.

I'm a bit of a purist and my car had a black interior (what was left of it) which I've changed back to green as per the fender tag.......but it's an F8 car. I'm comfortable with my decision and I'm a little tired of black interiors, but I think I'd change the interior on the car in question.

Changing an interior color is a pain and relatively expensive, but it is still nothing as involved as a proper body color change IMO.

I would keep it green

There may be a few who would not buy the car because they did not like the original color.

In my opinion at the end of the day there are more purist who would pay more for a car that they did not have to redo, especially an original Black Superbee

change it to black or white.

Restoring a car to look "only" as good as the factory made it is like getting a boob job for your wife and having the doctor make them two different sizes to seem more natural

Yeah, I'm one of those nuts. I wouldn't even consider a car with any sort of color change..inside or out.

If you are set on changing it red would be the way to go. Black with red int is a great combo.

The average guy that wants a cool car won't go for that- killing off more buyers than the ones you would lose by making it a more normal color.

Black is rare and sweet when done right. Only a handful of people will want one with a green gut.

I want my fair share
